Deangelo Williams is the best player out of the 06 draft.

No, he is better because if you watch the two of them and compare all around game, Jones-Drew is better. MJD is really the only offensive weapon you have to gameplan for on the Jaguars, but he still puts up elite numbers. He catches better than Williams, blocks better than Williams, participates in all aspects of the return game, and is still an elite back. How many backs have more touchdowns than Jones-Drew since he came into the league? As an offensive player, your job is to put the ball into the endzone.

Stewart and Williams have 55 combines touchdowns between the two of them. Jones-Drew has 56.

And how would Williams look if he wasn't splitting with Stewy?

Yeah.

Stats have nothing to do with this argument.

Jones-Drew averages 11 touchdowns rushing a season while splitting carries with Fred Taylor. Williams has gone over 10 just one time. You still can't defend Jones-Drew being a better blocker, better pass catcher, better returner. Stop being a homer.

Put Jones-Drew on the Panthers and put Williams on the Jaguars. The Panthers will be better for it and the Jaguars will take a hit.

EDIT: Want to add that had he not been splitting carries and had to handle the load all on his own without Stewart, he still wouldn't be close to Jones-Drew's total of TDs. The guy is a touchdown machine. It is alright for Williams to be the number 2 back in the draft when the other guy turned out to be an absolute stud.

Taylor hasn't been in Jacksonville, in what?

3 years?

No.

Williams is the more complete runner.

a player's ability to return punts has nothing to do with his ability to play his true position.

Ask Devin Hester.

Stop being a "the grass is always greener" hater.

a.k.a. trolling..

Devin Hester's true position should be returner.

Jones-Drew is the more complete player and just as good as a true runner hence the more rushing touchdowns. Stop being so blinded by the homerism.

By the way, Fred Taylor was with the Patriots last season. It was his first season not in Jacksonville. So, last season was the first year Jones-Drew was not splitting carries with Taylor.

Not sure which end you pulled that out of...But hey, whatever information you need to make up to fit your agenda, right?

There is no statistical proof or eyeball test that shows Williams being superior. I bet since the Jaguars aren't nationally televised and are nowhere near local here that you guys don't get to see the games like I have the past few years. I understand that you guys give Williams a bump because he plays for the local team, I see it myself when I am on the Jaguars forum.

They think Christian Ponder is the next big thing because he plays for FSU despite the fact that all the FSU fans claim it has nothing to do with him playing for their favorite team. Read those forums and you will see how they put Ponder over Locker, Luck, and even Mallett. It is the same thing happening here in this thread.

You present the offer to any GM or any analyst and ask them to pick Jones-Drew or Williams and I bet 9/10 take Jones-Drew. This is like how Viking forums think Peterson is the best back and how Titans fans think Johnson is the best back.

/sigh

I guess this is a pointless argument since some people can not view things objectively.
