Cool, overpriced items

lightsout

After watching the Book of Eli, I really wanted a pair of those headphones he had. But I couldn't find anything on them. Then, a guy in one of my classes has a pair. Said they are the best headphones he has ever used and that they never come out. They are Beats by Dr. Dre. So, I asked him how much they are...$180 at Best Buy. WTF?! $180?! REALLY?! I would buy a pair TOMORROW if they were $20-$30 because my current earbuds come out while walking, let alone running.

So, this thread is dedicated to great items, whatever they may be, that are severely overpriced.

video games and systems, iphones (most smart phones), Shape ups (only they aren't cool...)

Gotta ask for an explanation on the video games and systems, as well as smart phones.

If you're argument for video games is that you can just download them on your computer for free, my response is a computer capable of running games at equal quality as current gen consoles will typically cost you around $2000 depending where on console cycle you are when you buy it. On the other hand, if you are saying video games are just worthless period, then fug you buddy.

As for smart phones, I find that having internet access and GPS in my pocket at all times is incredibly valuable. Do I wish plans were cheaper, yes, but it is still worth my money. Having a computer/phone/mp3 player/GPS/camera/wireless hotspot/handheld gaming device that can fit in my pocket is pretty awesome in my opinion.

    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
    • I trust Morgan when it comes to LBs so I think Wallace will do well.
