Just got back from the game/observation from a giants fan.

the giants have won three superbowls, two of which they started the season 0-2 so it is foolish to have so many knee jerk negative threads.

I was on the 104 section so I had a good view, but didn't get a lot of angles and replays like on TV at home, but this is what I thought...

1. Beason played very well, was in on lot of tackles. bradshaw made him look really bad on one run, but it was only like a 4 yard game so no big deal.

2. Steve Smith (Car) looked pretty explosive, but dropped two relatively easy passes. I can see how he may not get a lot of catches, but have a lot of tds, yards.

3. Eli played great, looked like three catchable passes that got picked off. he had a few bad throws to nicks in coverage early and that pass to bradshaw near the goalline was bad, Everyone here was talking about bashing eli's head in, but he is an above average qb--it isn't always about stats.

4. Where was the running game? either team? 11 yards for Stewart, almost 200 less than last game and he was my #1 rb on my fantasy team.

Bradshaw got going a little near the end and Jacobs put a little spark in the middle of the game.

5. Nicks - was that the worst 3 td performance ever? we'll take it, I wore his shirt. Sat close to a pretty lady with a daughter, both had nick's jersey and were there alone, I wonder if that was his gf and daughter?

6. Our special teams sucked, especially our coverage teams. 14 net yards on punt coverage. Matt Dodge was rumored to be hyperventilating on the sidelines, good thing he isn't the field goal kicker

7 DL looked good. Barry Cofield made two huge plays in a row. Three sacks from the right ends. Tuck looked really good, the stats line on nfl.com doesn't tell the story.

8. Penalties killed the giants, panthers were very undisciplined too.

9. I hope Kevin Boss and Matt Moore are okay.

10. Until we meet again:

thanks for the positive review. Giants are a good team, and they're my pick for the NFC East(Dallas is overrated, Eagles are in a rebuilding year sort of, and Redskins will just be average.) Giants made 2nd half adjustments, and the Panthers didn't.

were you able to see what was going on with Matt Moore on the sidelines towards the end of the game?

no, we were in the endzone and osi got the sack right in front of us, so we didn't have a good view of the sidelines. I heard he was taken to the hospital and won't make it back with the team. He was throwing up on the sidelines which is a sign of a concussion.

With the boss injury, we didn't even know he got hit on the play, we thought he just fell over the defender and much have hurt his knee/ankle, etc...

According to Darin Gantt on Twitter, Moore did make it back with the team and it was a concussion.

NO, as I'm sure LBI will agree, the Giants are not a very good team! They are maybe an 8-8 team that crushed what most people here thought was a 10-6 team! Thanks to Fox's play calling and Matt Moore, a Bad team beat a really bad team, nothing more!

I think the giants are going to be a very good team, what they should have been last year. They were ranked #1 for a while before the saints game. While I don't think they are anywhere near the #1 team, I think they will at least contend for a wild card. We added some good talent, dropped some baggage, and are healthier. The O-Line is a concern. I hope that Seubert gets replaced with Andrews and we start running on people again. The Colts gave up 200 yard to foster, I hope they giants run well next week.

Giants fans are most excited about Hakeem Nicks and Kenny Philips.

    • I can't help but think that you are equating physical attributes alone with wins. I don't subscribe to that thought. No one will argue that Young has a strong arm, but he makes up for it in other ways. The real limitation for him is he needs good route runners with great hands. That's why Young was so good at the end of the 24 season. Thielen and Coker were perfect receivers for him and he had his best games with them. Not having them to start the 25 season hurt. Look at the first 10 games in 25 with a rookie receiver and no Coker and then look at the final 7 games with a more experienced rookie and Coker back and there is a telling difference in Young's performance. Prior to week 10, Young had 1 game with a QB rating above 100, 2 games with a rating above 90 and 6 games with a rating below 90. In the last 7 games with Coker back, Young had 3 games with a QB rating above 100, 2 games with a rating above 90 and only 2 games with a rating below 90. The tools a QB has to work with matter more than their arm strength.  To go back to Darnold and Stafford, yes they both have great arm strength but neither had much success with that alone. As I already pointed out, Stafford, even with a canon for an arm, only had 4 winning seasons in his first 12 years. It was only when he went to the right environment that he had true success.
    • I don't love this role for him if I'm being totally honest The pregame show is much more flash than substance and doesn't seem like the right fit for what Luke would bring to the table, and that's his vision of the game. I'd like to see him do something where it more involves him breaking down film and explaining what he's seeing out there, as he sees the game in a way very few ever have.
