Yes, Clausen should start the rest of the season...

give a rest

I don't see anything wrong with me wanting that. So no I won't.

I don't see anything wrong in what I said, and I don't see why anyone would have a problem with having the guy that stayed with this team for 7 years, clearly has great leadership, and got us to a Superbowl backing up young Jimmy.

Some fans here forget so quickly.

I was all for Moore starting, and aside from the things you mentioned Zod there was one play in particular that changed my mind. The play where he fumbled the ball he had that deer in headlights look. He should have just thrown the ball away or secured the ball and taken the sack at worst.

The time that Clausen was in there I thought he did a good job. Particularly considering the circumstances. Do I think we'll be a playoff team with Clausen starting? No. But it's pretty obvious to me that he's our guy for the future so let's get on with it. He can get some reps this year and that will only benefit him going into next year.

so Clausen is pulling a Moore from last season....what happens next season when Clausen is the starter and pulls a Moore this season?

any evidence for this? any at all? 0 starts and 3 series, all of which occurred when we were down multiple scores and were forced to pass? yet you're saying he will play good this season and bad the next? hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Matt Moore, for whatever reason, is not cutting it anymore. If it were missed catches, or extreme pressure on him I would be more forgiving. I was on the field today and could see his eyes clearly on every offensive play. On passing downs, they never scanned the field. They lock on one guy, the end. No idea why, I don't remember him doing this last season. He has regressed.

Clausen on the other hand made progressions. In the short amount of time he was in there, the offense had a new feel. They actually started to have a little swagger if only for a moment.

I was a big Moore supporter, but he no longer has my confidence.

Hey Foxy, keep Clausen in there. While your at it, hire a QB coach thats worth a damn to help him out. Is Vinny T looking for work?

Love,

Zod

I completely agree. I was a huge Moore supporter. However he is has proven that he is obviously not the future. We need to give Clausen a chance asap. Also Please Panthers Please. GET ANOTHER RECIEVING OPTION. I'm not saying Vincent Jackson, but I am saying a Greg Carmillo type player. This is getting pathetic Jerry. Like I said I have long been a supporter of the Panthers, Fox, Jerry, and Moore, but losing at to the Bucs at home is absolutely unacceptable. We need a spark and fast.

I don't get why anyone won't give Pike a chance. I stand by the idea that if we are going to replace the QB it needs to be Pike. But the major problem is the Oline. There was no blocking for the pass or the run.

Because he is the third stringer? We pass on the second string for the third string?

If he was that good he would be the back-up and Jimmy would be third string, so NO. Jimmy gets that chance now, not Pike.

    • FA may or may not be the best option each time. You know as well as I do that the LT is the highest paid position on offense behind QB and WR. If you have cap concerns, it would be better to draft a quality LT and hold him for 3-4 years before you have to sign him to a long term (and expensive 2nd contract). I wouldn't want to acquire a run stuffing DT in FA if I could get a younger one much cheaper in the draft.  Let's say no good Safties are on the market when prior to drafting. Once again you'd go to the draft. FA is a good way to feel out the roster prior to the draft, but it's possible to REACH there too. FO's usually end up over playing guys (at least at certain positions) who have already peaked. Besides, you always have to consider that the team that let them go didn't think they were worth the price they were asking to retain them. That certainly applies to our defense. We could draft the BPA at any level of our defense and immediately improve our team. A stud on the line beside DB would help the the run and pass defense. Our LB core needs a thumper/impact player at any position. We need another CB to play alongside JC. We have yet to see a Safety on our roster significantly impact a game this year.
    • Maybe Rod will change it up and slot Bussi in net. Why risk the inevitable injury to Freddie this early in the season against a team that will likely win regardless.  Just show up and play to win, that's all I ask.
    • Well, I feel the same way about pharmaceutical, junk/fast food and political ads. They all cause active and KNOWN harm to the populace but we are the penultimate corrupt Western country, so that's just where we are as a society.
