Water Cooler - The last fight you were in

For me it was in 2004. I was coming out of Midtown Sundries Hwy 51 late one night. I had date with me. We had just got done listening to their cover band. (Superglide, if I remember right.) There were 3 guys, 1 way too drunk. (The bartender should have cut him off about 3-4 drinks before that.)

It was too long ago to remember why, but drunk guy decided to pick a fight with me. Now I don't mind that he insulted me, but he said something nasty about the date I was with. He got in my face and called her a slut or *****, why I have no idea. I remember I shoved him and he took a swing at me. (This was a couple of years before I was in my wheelchair and I still had two good legs.) We were at the bar and the bartender said to take it outside.

I remember, I hit him so hard that he spun around and fell over the hood of a car. When he stood back up, he was about to come at me again. His two buddies who were pretty drunk themselves, grabbed him and pulled him into their car. I don't drink, so I was sober.

He was ten years younger than me, but I was about 6 inches taller and out weighed him by a good 50 pounds. They drove off and I heard him ask them why his jaw hurt.

The funny thing was, he left his credit card behind. The bartender put our tab on his bill! My GF and I were there almost every Saturday night. They never showed back up.

That was the last time I was in a fight.

When I was in grade school, it seems like I had my share of fights.

Not sure I remember...junior high school probably. I used to smoke alot of dope in HS and college so I was peaceful :)

Fighting over stupid stuff is, well, stupid. My girlfriend knows a girl who had a boyfriend that got in a fight at Midtown sundries at the lake. Guy got shot and killed right in front of her. It was on the news recently. They were fighting over a football game. Really?

I was on Shore patrol in the Navy. One of our sailors was drunk and got into a argument with a cab driver over the fare. We were in a dirt poor country (Bulgaria) and the guy was arguing over a 2 dollar cab fare. The Chief on watch went ahead and paid the fare (got it back from the guy the next day) but our guy wouldn't shut up. He finally took a swing at the cab driver, and I grabbed his arm, bent it behind his back and pinned him against the cab. He complained and said I was hurting him, so I told him I would let him go if he would shut up and go to his bunk. He said he would, but as soon as I let him go, he went after the driver again. So I grabbed him again, and held him until the Ships master at arms came down with handcuffs and hauled him to the brig.

Probably the closest I have come to an actual fight since I turned 21.

I don't let anyone talk about my sister that way either

I'm the biggest softy you've ever met. I only got in one fight in grade school (which I won).

In college about 20 punks from D.C. jumped me and 5 of my friends. Really they just attacked one of my firends and held the rest of us back. But I panicked and didn't intervene. A couple years later, I had a nightmare about that night, mainly about what if my friend had died because I didn't help him. So I started taking Krav Maga, and have been doing that for 2 years.

Now, I'm 6'3" and 200 lbs. People don't usually eff with me. And if they do, as soon as I make it clear that I'm not going to back down, and project that I can handle myself in a fight, the situation usually resolves itself.

That said, the only people who eff with me now are my friends. My last fight was against my buddy David (6'5" and 250 lbs). He was drunk and was trying to beat up on me to impress some girls at a bar. I told him once to stop it, but he punched me in the stomach again. I ended that after one punch.

Never been in a fight but I have slapped two people in the face.

Some girl when I was five. I remember doing it and feeling awful about it. She was being mean and she was a bit older. I don't remember getting in trouble.

When I was around seven everyone from my street had gotten off the school bus and we were walking home. An older boy starting chasing me ( i think he was trying to kiss me or something, can't remember). Anyways I took off my dress shoe and slapped him in the face with it. It hurt him pretty bad. i felt pretty awful about that one too.

Since then nothing. I think fighting is immature.

    • I really appreciate Bill explaining his methodology here because that gives interested parties a chance to try and recreate the results themselves. I believe that it's safe to assume that despite emphasis being placed on WRs that Chuba Hubbard is one of the Panthers' top-5 weapons. Considering targets, yardage, receptions, etc... Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette are also on the list. Jalen Coker's success might have snuck him in there as well. I can't draw a conclusion on who #5 is though. I've narrowed it down to Diontae Johnson, David Moore, Ja'Tavion Sanders, and possibly Rico Dowdle if they're taking into account his production for the Cowboys in 2024.
    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
