A few tidbits from Dan Morgan's press conference:

- #Panthers are "far from done"

- Team will be patient at safety; won't box themselves in a corner at a specific position

- Loves Moehrig's fit on D

- No talk/?'s of EDGE rushers

- Plan at 8 is still BPA

This past Monday, the Panthers brought in safeties Julian Blackmon and Marcus Williams for free-agent visits. Both, however, left the building without striking a deal.

So, what do these types of meetings provide to the team? Tilis was asked that during his press conference on Wednesday.

"Just how they fit with our coaching staff and just getting to know the person a little bit better," Tilis said of the visits. "At this point in free agency, players are signing for opportunities—so let's all make sure that we all agree on what this opportunity looks like."

The biggest take away, and Im surprised that no one mentioned it is where they asked Tilis if the reason for the structure of the deals being mostly 2 year deals is because of BY potential contract and he said,

 

"... we didnt think too much about Bryce and where he is, thats still TBD."

      Any idea what happened to him at LSU? im reading that he was considered a 1st round pick in 2023, had an off 2024 season with only 4 sacks but was also on a horrible FSU team then went to LSU where he was supposed to be on an aggressive defense that should have given him a lot of sacks but he only ended up with one….   was he injured? Did the top SEC competition expose him? What happened? Cause this guy was considered a top prospect .

      Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.

      Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
