DeAngelo Williams:Best Part Time Running Back In NFL

Well hell if I'm calling the plays then the opposition is going to get a healthy does of screen plays to Williams, sweeps with Williams and Goodson, play action with Stewart, reverse plays to Smith, Goodson in the slot.. ect. I'm not saying any of that would work (we're terrible), but I'd go balls to wall sitting at 0-3. Play loose and make something happen. Tell Jimmy to go ahead an uncork the deep ball. What's the worst that could happen? We play like sh!t? That would be an improvement.

Goodson has been arguably our best playmaker. Can't really blame the coaches for playing him as much as they have. Stewart hasn't shown much in limited time and D-Will has been inconsistent. This would all resolve itself if our passing game would pick up just a little bit and our O-Line would stop playing like a bunch of JV kids, but for now we can at least be grateful that we have one hell of a RB core.

What the hell is wrong with our oline? Hopefully Otah will get back soon or this is going to be one really long (and sad) season.

seems to me that Fox and Co. want Goodson as their "Bush" back.. Yea he's dangerous, but still shouldn't be on the field near as much. Williams and Stewart should be getting at least 5 more carries each every game and cut Goodson's in half..

He's an X-factor player that the Panthers are using too much.. How can will/stew get in a rhythm with the way we're calling plays right now?

The bottom line is that if we want to get Goodson on the field then we need to trade Stewart. There is NO POINT in having 4 RBs as good as ours. You don't need a first round draft pick to be your goal line back and you DEFINITELY don't keep your best player on the bench so that you can split carries. The ideal situation for me would be to sign Deangelo to an extension, trade Stewart for a solid WR, make Goodson the 3rd down back and Sutton a goal line back (ONLY WHEN WILLIAMS GETS TIRED).

The truth of the matter is that because of his vision...there is nobody on the team better than DWill at ANY phase of the game. He doesn't have to use power like Stewart to pick up tough yards because his vision allows him to find holes and get tough yards. It is just mind-boggling to me why we would cut into this guy's carries. He is a top-tier running back and our best threat on offense.

I agree with just about everything you said, except I think its Goodson or Sutton that needs to go and we need to keep Double Trouble intact, and one of them on the field at all times.

Kind of made me mad in the end of the game seeing more Goodson out there in the back field rather than Deangelo or Stewart. I think they are fine in the passing game (they'd get better with more reps) and more explosive than Goodson. Goodson and Sutton are good, but one of them has to be the odd man out and I think Goodson would fetch a better trade value.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
