Offensive line isn't providing Panthers room

"The biggest thing we lose this offseason is experience," Kalil said. "Unfortunately, we don't have a whole lot of time to wait around on that.

"Experience gives you the ability to play a lot faster, so when you have younger guys, there's a tendency to play a bit slower. We don't have the same kind of rhythm we had last year. That's not a cop-out, that's just the reality.

But then again all the vets we lost were only average and there was no dropoff, right???? Experience doesn't really matter, right??

that does not make sense though....we did it with out him last year we can do it again......they are giving on the running game way too early

Keydrick Vincent was at right guard instead of Bernardeau as well. Key was a dominating run blocker.

I don't think Key was in for the last games in 2009:

"The young right side of guard Mackenzy Bernadeau and tackle Geoff Schwartz played a good bit last year, when the running game was at its peak."

you guys are missing the problem. it isn't the oline that is the real problem. the defenses are blitzing every single play and they are sending in 8 or 9 when they do. they don't just stack the box like they used to anymore...they blitz the run. they blitz everything and it's just too much for 5 OL to handle and the panthers can't do anything about it unless they get a WR who can get some separation from his defenders and get open.

until we have another WR step up and get open and the QB can get the ball to him we are going to be seeing the same thing over and over.

this. we are just getting blitzed like crazy with a stacked box. Even if our o-line does make a hole for our back there are instantly a linebacker and safety there to make a hit. The passing game HAS to get going first, otherwise our offense is losing a game of numbers

I get that's what the article is saying, but I watched the game and at various times with one-on-one matchups, our linemen are on roller skates.

it is obvious that we cant run the ball without jeff otah. given how often he is injured, it looks like we are in big trouble.

He would help but that is not the problem. steward run 206 yards against TB last year without OTAH. They problem is because we don't have a passing game and nothing but rookies for QB teams are putting 9 guys in the box.

Now when 8 guys in the box it is hard to run the ball but 9. And another thing is the heat. It takes a running back a few runs to get the gears going but they are only putting williams in for a few runs the stewart for one and the goodson so williams or stewart can get into that groove. Also our OFFEND. cant stay on the field not helping that either. So you can look at it to get better after our bye I can't see us doing to much running against saint but more less the Bears with a pissed off peppers.

I remember the good old days when Peppers was on our team and we knew that if Pepper where going to give it his best that day we where going to have a good game and I thing the day we play the bear Pepper going to be there whole Defence. I would live to be in the lock room to see how fox is going to prepare for that one.

    • Not in same league. Caldwell just hit a 10.00 on the RAS. 2nd out of 3830 from 1987 onward.  https://x.com/MathBomb/status/2027885023387349047 Yeah I mean Louis had a sub 9.00 RAS. Still very very good, no doubt. Louis is small, no 2 ways about it. He is likely a sub package lb in nickel packages or specialized WLB. Be fine ST gunner to start for sure. 6 foot flat and 220lb is pushing it for a starting LB. At 10 to 20lbs less than the other LBs he'd better be closer to the top in most timed drills. He's gonna be challenged when some of the wrs in the class can matchup bigger stronger faster, much less TE in the run game.  Yeah instinct matter and he has them, but that size is a massive red flag compared to many of the other LBS in this class.    Rodriguez is the LB that really climbed this week from a pure grit guy to great flash with athleticism people wrote off cause he was a QB at first at UVA. 18.4mph in the backpedal. Production the last 2 years were great. I'd be thrilled with him as the future mike.   Hill likely moved out of 51 and into the top 45 picks ( Ravens at 45 I can't imagine don't bite if he makes it there). Honestly Hill imo is a 1st rounder and I'd be ok with him as he fits the MLB we have missed the last few years. People would crow it's a reach but he's top 30 all-time I'm RAS for a LB at 9.9+ . Plus he was big time in big games when he was healthy. And that br a big check: meds.
    • Miller, Melo, Coby, Moose, and Bridges all on the floor at the same time must be a nightmare for defenses lol. Switch one out for Kon and still a nightmare. Coby really does bring a true 6th man value and looks like he could start if Melo was out after only a few games of getting his feet wet.
    • Well I guess he should stop playing football. This was his defining moment and chance to prove he was generational and he failed. What a waste of football life..
