Clausen vs Smith

Forget about who would win in a fight. (SS every time)

The question is who would win on the field. All I'll say is that a lot of people thought Golden Tate was the better half of the Jimmy/Golden connection last year.

But when people asked Golden if he was staying in college for his senior year (and a Heismen run), he said there was no decision. He was coming back if Clausen came back, going to the NFL if he wasn't.

I hope that Clausen and Steve Smith can start hooking up in the same way. Become symbiotic to the point where neither one wants to play without the other. That is probably the single biggest reason to be excited about the future. But it will take some time... Golden Tate was not Jimmy Clausen's leading receiver during their freshman year.

Who ya got?

After all the talk during the week about Smith getting in Jimmy's face on the sidelines last Sunday, I thought it'd be interesting to get people's opinions on who'd actually win in that fight.

Personally, my money is on Clausen. He's a tough bastard.

Yep, you are right. Smitty is a tough little thing, but if Clausen connects, lights out. A QB would knock anyone out cold if he got a good shot!

Steve Smith is my favorite all-time Panthers player but his immaturity was shown when he went off on Jimmy Clausen,a rookie QB starting his first NFL game.

That is no way for a team captain to act and sets a poor example for himself to and the rest of the team.

I will continue to support Smitty but his uncalled for outspoken acts toward teammates, falsely called being competive,is total BS,in my opinion and need to stop.

in a fist fight, smith would whoop jimmy.

but, i kinda wish that jimmy woulda stood up for himself, and got in smitty's face on the sidelines.

this is his team now, and he had a perfect oppertunity to show the other guys that he had balls and self-respect, but he didnt do it.

a leader woulda put smith in his place, and told him to keep his mouth shut, until he gets open.

It would be something interesting to see, that's for sure. I would hate losing two players though. Clausen with a facial injury and Smith with a suspension. I know we joke about it, but I can seriously see Smith beating the hell out of Clausen if Clausen actually got in his face right back. :yesnod:

    • Having trouble finding all these articles saying the Raiders withheld information. Here’s the latest from Crosby’s surgeon: ElAttrache told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday morning that Crosby was "doing very well in the early part of his rehab and recovery from surgery to treat a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee. He is certainly on track in his planned program." "We truly respect the work of the Ravens' staff with Maxx regarding the contract physical exam. We also understand the challenge the staff faces when tasked to provide a future risk assessment based on an evaluation early in the recovery process," ElAttrache said. "This is especially challenging when dealing with an elite player like Maxx considering the level of commitment necessary for a team to obtain him. The timing of this assessment is unfortunate because the apparent risk will lessen as his recovery progresses and his return to performance over the next few months becomes clear."     So the Ravens excuse is the future risk assessment based on the physical, not that the Raiders withheld information. They found an excuse to save face publicly. They had the right to cancel the trade for no reason at all, but they’re trying to save face with the most acceptable reasoning they can find. I’ve heard and seen the Ravens getting dragged everywhere for this. You know what would be an easy way to put a stop to that if you’re the Ravens and the Raiders were actually the shady ones withholding information? Just come out and say that you were not given all the medical information. But they aren’t saying that. I guess they’re just taking the bullet for the Raiders just because?    Speculation indeed.
    • Two first round picks for a guy with very questionable knees who will be 29 this summer. Yes it is safe to say the Ravens got cold feet.
    • The salary cap is the reason we got Phillips and Lloyd
