For all of you who hate everybody on this team...

Jesus I have to explain everything.

I never said i want these rookies to light it up. I want these NFL players making millions to show me anything. Anything at all.

We may suck but we have a lot of superstars still out there supporting these poor rookies.

If you think it is OK for an NFL QB to not have one decent play all day against a mediocre team then you are in the fantasy world.

Show me one play.

If you are happy with that then you are the one living in a fantasy world

No matter what, I'm happy to watch them every week.

Nobody said they were happy with a damn thing today. Yes, Clausen had his WORST appearance in the NFL today. But is it ok to let false starts on 4th and 1 slide? Is it ok for a WR to go blocking down field too soon on a screen? Is it ok for a DE to get a facemask on a would-be 6 yard loss? Everybody screwed up today. Including the coaches (but we all are aware of that).

At some point you have to admit the rookies aren't stepping up. For me it is today.

Not sure what your time will be maybe when we are 0-16

I can name a bunch of rookies on very very bad teams who are showing legitimate promise.

Ours stink.

I'll leave it to you to keep piling lipstick on the pig.

And if you did you wouldn't sit here and say lets give these failures another 11 games to do anything

You can't run an NFL team like your relationship life. You can't just cut guys after a month and a half in the NFL because they're not producing like 7 year vets. Smith not being on the field hurt. Allowed the Bears to focus on the run game and abusing rookie WRs more than usual. With Smith, he gets double coverage nearly every play. Gettis and Lafell can eventually get favorable match-ups and more separation.

Again, when ALL your WRs are rookies, you are screwed. We could have the top 3 WRs in the draft from this past year and it wouldn't be a hell of a lot better. There will still be drops. There will still be miscommunication.

Look at Jordan Shipley. He is in the slot. He's catching a few balls a game because he is surrounded by veteran threats. He usually either has PLENTY of space, or single coverage with a nickle-back or a linebacker. Take Ochocinco and TO off the field, put Gettis and Lafell out there. Guarantee he will not look NEARLY as good.

That's why I go to every game.

Wait...what? You just said you are unhappy with what we have on the field, especially at the WR position. Then, you say you are happy to watch this team every week. Needless to say, that is a bit of a contradiction.

I can agree, yes, you have to know when they aren't stepping up. But how many other teams have an ENTIRE receiving corps FULL of rookies?

Not sure what you mean about none of our rooks showing anything but other teams showing something... The only ones on bad teams that stand out are Best and Bradford, are you thinking of someone else?

Gettis has had some nice catches and may materialize into a serious #2 for this team, which we have really needed....

Pugh had a nice interception today and played okay after the first quarter. He kept his nose in the game and worked hard at it, which was nice.

Hardy looks like he's going to kill someone every play he's in the game. Literally. I was afraid he was going to murder Collins on that sack. He's also blocked a punt I believe.

Those are three rookies who are looking good on this team. Until this week, I would have said Clausen was making some strides but still had a lot to work on. Now, I want to see how he responds to that game. That will tell us a lot about his future.

Not all of our rookies are sucking terribly, but when you have so many of them, and even those doing well make the occasional mistake, you're gonna look bad.

Good things from Clausen today...1st quarter perfect deep ball to king who dropped it, got bailed out by tillman. 2nd quarter pass to lafell to convert 3 & 9...he steps out, incomplete. 2nd or 3rd quarter, 3rd and long threads the needle to Gettis, 1st down.

There ya go Happy Panther.

Couple fraternity brothers of mine (ATL & GB fans) even said "Damn, he sucked on a few plays but he's an accurate passer. He needs some blocking, receivers and a run game. Your coach sucks."

No it isn't.

The tailgating was great. I got to hang out with my kid and a bunch of buddies. Weather was perfect. I still love the stadium. And the top-cats are even looking better this year. And they sell beer.

If i blindfolded a monkey and taught him to throw darts he would hit the 20 slice a couple times if he threw it enough times.

You people would be telling me how great the monkey looked

Ok, so. Do you want good plays consistently, or good plays at all? You said anything at all, we've given you plays Clausen made, and some of our other rookies doing well. If we had consistently good plays, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

What exactly is your point here? That our rookies are making mistakes? That Clausen needs to be benched? What? Just come out and say it. Stop saying "show me this" and then when we do, say it's proof of nothing.

    • So the last guy who had the job got hired by his former team directly into a role he has no direct experience in?
    • Hard to pass up millions for a couple of days work per week for a coaching gig in the NFL that is 60-80 hours each week during the season and a more relaxed 50 hours a week during the off season. Yeah, I'd love to see him as our DC but hard to see him giving up the cushy job there if he gets it. And he's going to be a great commentator for the network.
    • Really, I think that is where negotiations come in. If you've got a QB getting you to 10 wins but statistically he's not a great performer, then you say look you can take $22 million or you can try it on the market. Because let's face it, out there, any leadership skills that we're seeing aren't going to be on the table, it's just going to be performance and that lands him in the QB2 market, which is much, much less lucrative (although any of us would love that money).  No one is saying that Bryce will be a $50 million QB, barring something short of a miraculous jump. I'm just saying that if we are winning somehow with him at the helm, then it would be fuging stupid to dive back into the rookie pool all over again. Let's say we do hit the 10 win mark, heck, let's call it 11 and a second round in the playoffs. I think we can all say that would be a really uplifting result and one that should be doable if we have good play. What do we do then? Here's what I would offer if I were Morgan and Tepper. $25 million a year for 3 years, each year with up to $10 million in incentives for touchdowns, wins, playoff depth, being under 10 interceptions, completing a full season, passing yardage milestones, taking less than 15 sacks. Look, Bryce isn't a Ferrari, he isn't a Corvette, or a mid-level BMW. He's probably a new Toyota Sienna that will definitely get you somewhere and bring the whole team along with it, no fuss but not a lot of pizazz.  And really, it's about the destination, not about what drove you there.
