Could you imagine Harbaugh as HC and Rivera as DC? I think I would piss my pants if that were to happen.

maybe you could beat Oregon if that happened!

I know Rex Ryan is a fat@ss but sometime its refreshing to hear a coach talk sh!t, somebody with a backbone...

The fun really picked up Monday when Jets coach Rex Ryan gave Bob Glauber of Newsday the kind of quote that works as catnip for reporters.

“I came here to win,” Ryan said. “As much as I respect and admire Bill Belichick, I came here to kick his ass, and that’s the truth. That’s just the way it is.”

You mind leaving the smack elsewhere, please?

sorry couldn't resist :)

you guys need a defensive minded dude, it's your franchise's identity and the reason you have had so much success in such a short time...Rivera, Cowher any of these guys would do well. Not sure that Harbaugh is ready for the NFL yet. I know this (no b.s.) you guys just need a little nudge of offense because once your defense knows it can keep the team in games, that swagger will be back. It's amazing how one side of the ball can effect the other side.

To be honest, I'd rather we change up our identity... the defensive minded coaches have given us too many years of 7-9 for my liking enough to stick with that gameplan. I'd rather go offensive-minded and nab a Superbowl, tyvm! It seemed to work for your guys... :D

I have no idea who I want at this point to be the next head coach but two names that I like for offensive and defensive coordinators are Brad Childress and Marvin Lewis. I know Lewis hasn't been fired yet but at this point it's kind of like Fox. He's still here but everyone knows he'll be gone in a month.

Childress intrests me in that he would bring a WCO style of play to the Panthers which I think would be good here, especially with some of the younger players on the team.

Lewis was one hell of a DC in Baltimore.

I don't like either for Head Coach but I would love to have them as our coordinators. So, what poteniel head coach out there would go with these two as apart of his coaching staff?

childress even as an OC would be a huge no for me. he shouldn't have had the head coaching job in the first place. when he was at philly his OC job was about like mccoy's in denver. no play design or play calling duties. it was all the HCs offense. he more or less just worked with mcnabb and i think even then he was given way too much credit with mcnabb's success there as is evidenced by his total lack of developing a QB in minny and a total lack of faith in his own ability to do that. he's pretty low on the list of guys i'd want to have around here.

now lewis...that's another issue entirely. he'd be great as a DC, imo, esp. if we have young HC. he's not going to get fired, though. he's in the same boat as fox is in. contract expiring after this year.

I can't argue with your points about Childress. My perspective is that I would like to see a WCO installed in Carolina. Who would be the most talented and experienced coach out there to come in and do that? I would think Childress but like I said, I wouldn't want him as HC so OC would be the most likely situation.

Actually, Steve Mariuchi might be better but I seriouly doubt he would leave NFLN for an OC position and again wouldn't like him as a head coach.

Great, now you got me thinking what coaches out there are WCO coaches. Off to google search!

    • Rico is 0%. I think we would really like to have Mays back but we have a value in mind and aren't willing to overspend. I think someone probably will so I think the odds are pretty low but not zero.
    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
