Matt Moore = MVP!

two sides to that coin. Moore started 8 games entering this year and looked to be a pretty dang QB.

However, people opted to let the first 7 quarters of this season define him.

Moore is what he is. A decent QB. Fox screwed this team benching him week 2. It was an illogical move then....and as the season goes on it will continue to look like a horrific call by Fox. I could see Carolina finishing in a position where 3 games make a difference......and then we will have to look at the wasted Clausen games.

Exactly.

Moore looked terrible in the preseason, too. Say what you want, but it's not like he was looking wonderful stepping into the first game. Fox may have benched him too early, but I actually think he should have sat him against TB (due to concussion) and then brought him back against Cincy and let him play to the bye.

Pretty sure Moore said sitting allowed him to get a different view and a different take on the game. Maybe it actually DID help him. He looked great today, and he'll have a chance to show us that this is the real Moore going forward. There is more evidence this is what he'll be than not, but you have to remember, football is generally about what someone has done for you lately.

Oh, ffs. If you meant the game, that's fine, whatever. We can debate if it was him or Gettis, they both did great. For some reason I thought you meant overall. Didn't know we gave "game MVPs", thought those were game balls. My mistake.

Edit: Was trying to say he didn't do anything I wouldn't expect of a good player, so I wasn't going to crown him the MVP of the team or of the league... Didn't realize you just meant the game, haha

And that's what I have been saying all along. Including the likelyhood that he had a couple of bad games with a real bad team in the beginning of the season. Even good players have those.

You say you say you have been realistic. But your viewpoint wasn't the one above.

Imo, it's always been more realistic to see Matt as a decent QB who had a real bad season opener based on facts and history than to say he is a terrible QB who will never amount to anything based on 2 games.

If you really are as realistic as you say, you would have been defending my viewpoint, not arguing against it.

Fox has mismanaged more consistantly.....not playing him sooner in 07 and 09 and then pulling in week 2 of this year. Horrific.

Didnt you say you werent concerend with winning in 2010, that it makes sence and you that you fully support Jimmy playing the rest of the season?

My viewpoint has been this: Moore has played some great games. Before preseason, I thought Moore would show that he was a legit QB and play well. Moore played some terrible games at the start of the year. However, Clausen showed that was as much about the O as a whole as it was about the QB. I did not believe Moore would be able to do what he did today, less because I don't believe in Moore and more because I thought our offense as a whole was too terrible. Credit the O-Line for some good play too, but Moore did great today getting the ball to people who actually decided to catch.

Moore's performance surprised me because I thought very poorly of this offense, not so much of him. The reason I wasn't much against going back to him is because he had won in the past and I hoped the benching would help him, and it seemed to. I hope he continues to play at this level.

EDIT: I do not believe I EVER said that Moore wouldn't amount to anything, but that he wouldn't here because of how bad our O was. I even said that starting him was good because hopefully it'd give him a shot to land some place next year if not here. I did say he was looking like a backup QB more than a starter earlier in the season though, and I stand by that. Now, if he's got his wings under him, good.

geez. the guy beat a 49'ers team and they didnt have their starting QB. Now you moore jock lovers are calling him the next best thing since slice bread. Lets see how he does against a good rush D and a good team lead by a good QB that will keep him under pressure to score a TD or answer with some points in each possession.

The timing and chemistry were great. There was a pass to Lafell in the 3Q where the ball left his hands while Lafell was still running upfield. We just don't see that sort of chemsitry much this year. good sign.

I still didn't see Matt reading all of his WRs and often locked in on one guy, but he didn't make many bad throws. A couple but not many
