Nothing will be better than the original, but I like Rob Zombie's remake too.

I like the remake too. At least he stuck to the story with a little more added backround. But the second was just a piece of poo and shouldn't have been called Halloween 2, a lot like Halloween3: Season of the Witch.

As much as I like Nightmare on elm Street, and a original as the concept is, I've got to go with Halloween.

There may not be a scarier scene in cinema history than the scene when they are driving to the the mental hospital and all the patients are wandering around outside in the middle of the night. To me, that's a thousand times scarier than one of those "Boo!" moments where the murderer suddenly pops out. It's terrifying in a very subtle, Hitchcockian way, because if you were in that situation you'd be thinking, "How many escaped? Who escaped? What's going on inside the hospital? What happened to the staff? If we see them, where are the others we don't see? Are they all around me?"

Wonder what John Carpenter could have done if he'd have had Rob Zombie's budget.

"Halloween" was made on a shoestring (true of more than one Carpenter movie, honestly).

That's the beauty of some of these older films. Without a decent budget, filmmakers had to resort to -- gasp! -- great stories, direction and action.

Any of you guys who didn't have the fanciest toys as a kid should be able to relate. We didn't have cardboard boxes -- we had spaceships, cars and forts. When you don't have money, you're forced to work that much harder to make a film (or toy) work.

Very true. "Jaws" was actually made better because they couldn't do everything they wanted to do.

      More praise of Renfrow from Tim Weaver (formerly of USA Today's Panthers Wire, now SI.com), and also what I told some of you, my Huddle friends, from the start: keep it all in perspective, and don't conveniently---and perhaps unfairly, discount and label Renfrow as a JAG when it was a very debilitating illness affecting his play.    "It's understandable to be skeptical about Renfrow's abilities at this late point in his career. After all, he missed all of last season due to a bout of ulcerative colitis that also took a serious toll on his production in 2022 and 2023."   When Renfrow is healthy, he's an above average guy. Being 29 may hurt or help his chances depending upon perspective, but 29 for receivers generally means that there's still (sometimes plenty) gas in the tank. Renfrow also obviously has plenty of motivation and has come with his game face.   "Then agan, seeing is believing and by all accounts Renfrow has been very impressive since joining the Panthers a few months ago... And don't get it twisted; Renfrow isn't the most talented receiver on the team, but we have seen his ceiling, when healthy, in a Raiders offense that wasn't necessary replete with talent. Consider what he can do, especially in the slot, in a Panthers offense primed with young talent (no pun intended). From sick to "sick routes," eh?

      That is literally what I am talking about. Those were 53 man cuts. Not at the beginning of camp.  I would say the odds of Barno being back are extremely thin.
