Too many people not making sense here

Some people are already calling a rookie qb a bust? So you expect a rookie qb to put the worst offense in the NFL on top? I wasn't a fan of the Edwards pick, but why are people already labelling him as a bust? I myself don't think he'll be a good one, but I will at least give him the benefit of the doubt first. I have this said many times, and will continue to say it.....Rookie qbs are like rookie Sps in baseball. You can't expect them to be great right off the bat, they should get at least a couple years to prove themselves before being labelled as a bust. If Baseball Managers weren't patient with Randy Johnson, Greg Maddux, Johan Santana, Roy Halladay, etc. They would never know how good those guys would turn out to be. Will Clausen be a good or great qb? I don't know, but he should at least have enough opportunities to prove himself first.

And for the poster (I won't mention his name) who said that most of the great qbs have been top picks, there are many of them who were not even a first round qb, including the guy considered by most has the greatest qb of all time.....Joe Montana.

It's not like it isn't true though. Rookie qbs aren't known to have good numbers. Nobody thought Peyton Manning would be as good as he is now with the numbers he produced in his first 4 starts in the NFL.
