No FA's are killing/killed this team

I know we all hate our predictable offense and usually suspect time management but I think we can all agree that the fact that we barely signed anyone in FA put this team in a bind. We have a bunch of young rookies that want to win but don't know how. We have no veteran presence on the right side of the line and with Otah out our offensive line has turned to poo.

Defensively we are actually pretty good with what we have though we could have used another DT. At WR we have some good prospects but we've had to wait on them all season. We didn't bother to sign a vet QB in case Moore and Clausen suck balls.

I know JR is being cheap and preparing for next season but it wouldn't have taken much to make this team that much better. It also would put less of a burden on Matt Moore and Clausen. Our QB's better improve fast though. Next season I'm all for picking up McNabb. He could have won us some games this year. We need a sure fire player at QB. Who knows how long Clausen is going to take. And on the other side Matt Moore looks good one week and then turns to crap the next.

JR better redeem himself next season and sign us some f'kn players.

no FA would have helped this team. it was a horrible season for FAs because f the FA rules that were in place this year.

FA class was much smaller than most years and the quality was much lower but the price was still high for them. they were over priced.

expect these draft picks to take 3 years to really become a solid contributor..

whether there were any available or not, what I hope we all can agree on is the need to fore go demanding our current rookies to either sink or swim..

not really a great approach to this game at the NFL level.. there are better ways to bring in young talent and coach them up..

Throw in Bernadeau and Schwartz into the conversation because they aren't ready to start (whether they ever will be is another question)..

so at some point we are going to need to address the holes on offense.. unfortunately, we are throwing a shitload of players in with live bullets who aren't exactly ready.. and may take 2 additional years to see that they are..

anyone who thinks this is a great approach.. our win/loss record is seriously disagreeing with you..

I caught hell for this before, but the one guy I wanted was Haynesworth. I still believe he could have made our defense great. Of course, he wasn't a FA and we would have had to trade for him, but so what? It makes more sense than most of the trade scenarios I've seen on this board.

Anyway, he would have had the same role here that he had in Tennessee, which is exactly what he wants.

you weren't the only one.. and the price tag was cheap.. same goes for TJ Housh.. Put him in the slot with Gettis and Smitty, I think we would have something.. (the OL would be in question, but I don't think they would look as bad)

Pre-season killed this team. By the time we got to game 1, everyone knew we couldn't move the ball - so stack the box and make the rookie WR's, 8 games of experience QB prove you wrong. Guess what, we couldn't prove them wrong, so we are what we are.

James Anderson

Dante Rosario

Jeff King

Charles Johnson

Deangelo Williams

Thomas Davis

Ryan Kalil

Richard Marshall

Those are guys off the the top of my head that I'm pretty sure are FAs next year. Most of them have played well enough to earn more than their rookie contract. Some of them are currently underpaid.

I can see why JR cut all the expensive old guys. We have a lot of expensive new guys coming.

If we resign all those guys then suddenly we only have a few holes to fill that could be filled easily with draft picks and a FA or two.

The offseason will be a lot of fun at least, unless the lockout is coming.

Having yet another receiver that the qb won't throw to, wouldn't have helped.

Our defense is actually pretty good. I wouldn't waste any time or money for haynesworth.

The ONLY player that could have seriously helped, is McNabb.

How much he would have improvedd our team early, is debatable.

He wasn't even a free agent.

There wasn't a single free agent worth the money to bring in. Like it or not, that is the facts.

I can't believe that there are still people that actually think Housh would have signed here for that cheap contract. He signed with a team that had a legitimate shot at a SB.....something that the Panthers are not.

This theory would work if you don't include the fact that we didn't get anyone of note after the 2008 season either.
