Clausen actually looked like a pro QB today

top dawg

Your original argument was that he doesent throw downfield enough. I difused that argument. 10-20 yard pass plays are generally slants/checkdowns. Clausen thrived at those yesterday putting the ball on the money.

he doesn't look downfield enough. Checkdowns don't fall into that 10-20 yard window I am refering to.

You difused that argument? Clausen hit one pass in that window yesterday. That is thriving? Anything that occurs on the last drive of a game when a team is down by multiple scores is garbage football and pointless to talk about (he hit one then).

everyone is going to talk about how well clausen did despite the terrible play of the offensive line because it's a lot easier to remember the two good throws he somehow made (probably by accident) instead of the numerous times the line blocked well and he threw it in the dirt or into a defensive tackle.

if clausen had done more than complete 2 passes all day then maybe the defense wouldn't have been in that position to keep clausen from being in a position to show what he really is: terrible

causality arguments are fun

Sure are! :D

If the defense didn't give up so many first downs then maybe the offense wouldn't have been in that position to begin with. Nice try man.

instead of defused im going to pretend he meant diffused and actually believes he made your argument transfer from an area of high concentration to one of lower concentration until a natural equilibrium was reached.

ha, take that CRA.

More than any other QB we've had. It isn't just the QB though man. It's the line too. False starts aren't his fault, well maybe to you they are. Holding penalties aren't his fault nor are passes that bounce off a guy's hands. How many times did we have 3rd and long because the run was stuffed or he had to throw it away to keep from getting sacked because someone came in unblocked? Look at the whole picture.

Really, his one drive is more than any other QB we've had? LOL.

And no other QB in the league has to deal with those issues of penalties and drops and such?

If you want to debate the offense as a whole we can, but if you want to debate Clausen's performance you can't include outside factors such as things that happen on different plays.

LoL loyal I new if clausen had more than a 5 yd completion you would be on his nutsack today. At least you didn't disappoint.

It's a tough job but somebody's gotta do it. :o

Honestly if he plays Sun I have little to no expectations...line won't hold up and that defense will disguise its schemes and will confuse the hell out of him.

Watch out, the Clausen gang is going to call you a homer in the interwebz because you don't think Clausen played good. LPF and Catman are going to say stuff then try and be funny but won't be. Then you will be labeled like me.

maybe where not on the same page here. are you talking about passing plays that net 10-20 yards or passes that are in the air for 10-20 yards before the catch?

I was refering to slants and checkdowns, and yes clausen did do a good job throwing slants and finding people who were open (albeit checkdowns and half were dropped by the recievers).

Slants and checkdowns can net you the 10-20 yard pass plays quite often if the is any y.a.c

Labeled as someone who ignores what is in front of them and passes off their hatred of a player because of where he came from as dislike for how they play? No, he's not biased.
