Panthers 'D' not holding up their end of bargain

Agree with the poster above me. Besides, we only scored 16 points. Not gonna win many games scoring just 16 points

You will if the defense can hold the other team to less than 16 points.

I think it's completely fair to criticize the defense for this game. They've played admirably throughout the season, and they've certainly had little help from the offense, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they played horribly today.

The offense played just as bad or worse than the defense, so the article is bunk anyway. The offense still isn't nor hasn't all year held up their end of the bargain.

Fumble leads to a TB touchdown. Defense gets a turnover on the 50 and the offense can't do poo with it...

Sorry but no, it's not fair to criticize the defense because the offense has, and probably will continue to blow balls.

Today's loss WAS the D's fault. Yes the O was weak, but Tampa just wore the D out. I don't care how tired they are. They signed up to be an athlete. Today even Beason looked like a high schooler out there. I doubt Clausen could've pulled off the comeback, but after that Cadillac run it didn't matter.

The O signs up to score points, more points than the other team.

And if Beason and CO. look like high schoolers, the OLINE looks like YMCAers.

The Panthers offense still sucks and could only get fg's when they started with great field position. That being said the defense never gets off the field on 3rd down this season, last season, and it seems like forever. This has been a problem on this team for way to long. Hopefully this changes when the new coaching regime takes over.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
