If Jake had made a public statement to ESPN about never playing for his team again, hurting the teams ability to get good compensation for him, you'd see backlash at Jake as well.

Especially if Jake had had a contract on the table to make him the highest paid QB beforehand.

This is a thread about jake, not pep. The reason I posted was to get away from EVERY other post on the huddle to give people something different to look at. Let's not turn this into a pep thing.

Jake will be the QB this year.

Competition needs to be had however.

My thoughts on O-Coodinator, we need a short passing game. Either we don't have one, or Delhomme does not look to it on check-down and that needs to stop; and there is nothing wrong with short passing game BEING the first look either. It is hard to tell what was called by the Coordinator and what Delhomme called on his own. I believe he has that option.

No more excuses though. If he throws in triple coverage again, to the bench, and be quick about it, if for nothing more than to send the message, the days of ruining the rest of the teams chances are over until you demonstrate better decision making.

It is, without doubt, mind-boggling, about not running more.

One thing that was really irritating me was Fox's comment about 'other defense had 30 points put on them'. That's true; but, had the Cardinals not gone conversative i the 2nd half, understanding the Panthers offense was putrid and not a threat, it could have been scoring at will.

After all, the other team practices too.

I agree. We also need to work DeAngelo into the passing game a bit more, in my opinion.

We have so many offensive threats that if we used them appropriately, defenses would have a tough time stopping us.

All that being said, I'm actually not worried about the offense.

I don't like game managing quaterbacks or "gunslingers", I would prefer talent, intangibles and not 5 ints in the divisional playoffs, oh yeah and a fumble.

Never been a fan of Delhomme, Smitty makes him look good.

It's like I've always said, there are too many NFL teams, and not enough good QBs to go around. Play action pass QBs are easy to find, so replacing Jake won't be that hard. I just wish Jake would throw the ball away more, rather than sling it and pray.

When the offense is balanced, Jake can play MVP like. (see 2003 Superbowl, and MOST of his playoff career). When the offense is being carried on his shoulders, the gambler in him shows it's bad side.

Well, I've always been a Jake fan, but even I can't help but wonder if Jake will ever fully get his confidence back after that game. If you lose your confidence at that position, it's over.

Brett Farve will have his bust in Canton and plays the exact same game as Jake. The only difference is the ball bounced his way a few more times in the postseason.

Jake will be the starter next year, but probably not much beyond that. We should have a good run game, and that could extend his starter career by about 2 years.

We should be looking though to the heir.

I think Jake will get better. Another year of experience with his robo arm will serve him well. And after a night like he had against Arizona I don't think he will settle with the way he has been playing. HE SHOULD get better. If he doesn't release his ass.
