at this point, if Fox can get himself fired.....it is a lot better for his resume if he doesn't have to eat an entire 1-15 season.

this move makes little sense. An epic beatdown at home....in front a hostile crowd.....Jerry may have no choice. Fox definately doesn't seem to be working w/ what was given in regards to help build toward the future. St. Pierre confirms that.

In my opinion, Fox getting fired means he was culpable in this situation. I think most folks around the league assume Fox was handed this team and was given no say in the personnel, so you really couldn't hold the record against him... but if he's fired it suggests he had something to do with this mess, especially if the interim coach can get a few wins (like Jason Garrett).

How bad would Fox look if he got himself fired and Ron Meeks stepped in and squeezed a win out the next week?

I don't know how you can justify keeping Hurney after this season, unless he isn't calling the shots either. Hurney has said more than once that the product on the field is his, so if you take him at his word he should not be retained. If the Panthers honestly thought they would be much better than this, then that's a pretty big enditement of Hurney's ability to evaluate personnel.

No Sh*t..... this is ridiculus and for the first time and "pissed" I have spent money on a Panther game. Even in all the other years they were bad I never felt that way and looked fowarded to going to the stadium. Fine, Clausen got hurt but this team also drafted Pike and has Amanti Edwards on the roster. (eventhough he was drafted to play WR).

I have been annoyed for weeks now watching this team who is obviously playing for the future being led by a lame duck HC who is only here because of the CBA.

Give me a break... get this guy out of here already!!!!!! BUT here I go again and get that feeling that it all ok because we are just that much closer to the #1 pick in the draft :cool:

even if he was handed a team he didn't want....1-15 is 1-15. It will still be tough to make an arguement he was given less to work w/ than Buffalo, AZ, and a couple other teams.

If Fox can get fired he can spin it at least more easily.

let's not get too excited about a #1 pick. Pending a new CBA it could have a LOT of trade value for a change.

Actually, we should give him an extension, wait for all the other HC positions to be filled and then fire him...LOL

      lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

      Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
