Honest appraisal St. Pierre

OK, now realisticly - what can you expect from a guy that has never started, has'nt played this year, only thrown 5 passes - gets 3 days practice and then starts?

C'mon people - we all watch football and have hefty opinions - what did we expect?

I'll go on the limb and take the flaming arrows - I thought he played well for coming in with that kind of a background. We were in it going into the 4th quarter. Yes, he threw 2ea pic/6's and that broke our back, but c'mon - how much film has he really seen, how much has he really practiced with the 1's to get the communication down? Its a bit harsh to just lay it all on him.

I watched his postgame interview twice. For a guy that was thrown to the wolves - on a losing team - with virtually no preparation, he struck me as a mature guy that really wanted to contribute to the team. He accepted everything, all the blame. For Christ's sake, he's living in a hotel in a strange town, his teammates, coaches and trainers are all strangers to him.

He gets named the starter after 3 days and the fanbase expects him to turn it around?

He's 30 years old - which on this team means he's the "old man = veteran". Its natural that many of the young players are looking to him for the leadership that is missing from this team.

Now thats a tremendous amount of pressure - so be honest - he was not that bad for the horrible situation he was thrown into.

I don't think most here have as much of a problem with St. Pierre himself as we do the decision to start him (for all the reasons you've already discussed).

I don't really have a problem with it. It is just the circumstances regarding us letting him start. Sign as a backup and let someone else start. He managed the game ok but then helped us to get of the game. I just don't know why we start someone that we have no investments for the future in. It is not like we have a chance at the playoffs. I just don't get it. Fox use to be all about having people on the field that knows the playbook and I am sure Pike knew it more than a guy that was just signed. No hate for St. Pierre, but that was a bone head move.

Even though he was a rookie in 2007, I'm willing to bet Moore knew more of the playbook than Testaverde. And yet Fox waited until the season was virtually over before starting Moore. Maybe that was the right decision that year, maybe not.

i hate it for him...first chance to start and he gets in the record books for 2 pick 6s in 11 seconds. he had his whole family there watching. that's pretty sad.

i wish he could get a win. i just don't see it happening.

I don't think anybody is really hating on him , he is a victim of Fox just like everybody else. I actually felt sorry for the guy.
