If we pick 1st, Luck doesn't declare, who do you want?

Patrick Peterson, no doubt about it. David Gettis has shown me enough that I don't believe WR is a first round need. I would go with Peterson and if he didn't declare then I would try trading down before wanting to kill myself for having the worst luck in the world.....

a CB has NEVER been drafted first overall. NEVER...the only time a DB of any kind was drafted first overall was in 1956, Gary Glick, a safety.

if we want to draft him first, we should trade down.

btw...the last time a WR was drafted first overall was 1996, keyshawn johnson. although i will say that in '07 calvin johnson should have been drafted first overall instead of jamarcus russell. in fact most were saying that he should be drafted then and were surprised when crazy al took russell instead of megatron.

I can see it happening since their value would be 100% influenced by the other prospects.

Not really. A trade for the first overall would almost certainly involve future draft picks, most likely involving the following year's first as well as this year's second rounder at least AND it would involve a massive contract, even with a cap.

Only a franchise QB is worth that kind of sacrifice.

with all the talk aorund the league surrounding luck, there will more than likely be some insane offers going on.

it's going to be hard to pass either one up.

it would be awesome to find someone mike ditka stupid willing to give up a whole draft for the next peyton manning as well as a 1st and a 3rd the following year, but then i would think about the awesome success the redskins had from all those picks....*crickets*.

I cannot for the life of me think of a reason to pass on such a good chance to get a true franchise QB.

If you have a franchise QB, you are going to the playoffs more often than not. From a pure business perspective, it's tough for any FO to try anything else.

I'll point out again that the only reason any team's traded out of what was considered a #1 QB slot in the last decade was when they didn't feel they (well, San Diego) felt they could sign him.

    • I know it was obvious and I know the ref is to blame! But KB is a bum and my original post was about the situation in its entirety. You are right, he did touch him and that's why I said lay down on him to make it obvious. But KB did everything half assed and that is why he had less than a five year career. But the way Cam supported that kid and the way he ended up acting in the end is a dark spot on the franchise. It just doesn't sit well with me and never will. He literally left here talking about ball placement from a league MVP.
    • The Lee Hunter interview with Sheena Quick almost murdered me. That man said he had a 5 years old and a 2 munt year old!! 😂 and all of a sudden I couldn’t breathe!!
    • DLine has to be 50-79 or 90-99. So it’s likely to stay 92 over 62 or 52. Scourton and Phillips can wear a poo ton of numbers as “linebackers”, but the war daddy’s are still pretty limited.
