out of that FA list. Nate Washington. I really don't see a need for it though. As far as the passing game goes I'd like to see more screen options. Hoover, Williams, and Stewart in the wishbone. Smith and who ever out wide. That's two deep or midfield options, and two(maybe three) checkdowns. If Jake could see it all, and the line and Hoover do their jobs of keeping the D off of Jake, then I think that's money everytime.

I actually like Mcdonald to I saw him in preseason and he looks like a pretty good receiver

Robinson would be cheap, and they say that he has completely changed his life. Not to mention he is a super stud, would be back in NC, and can return kicks and punts. Remember he went to the Pro Bowl 2 years ago as a return specialist.

McDonald would be the perfect third down WR in a 4 set, and also would be very cheap, and has great character.

I agree that most teams need to pick best player available.....but not all.

Sometimes you have to pick the bpa and one that fits your scheme, and needs.

We have needs at 3 positions. D Line, QB, and O line (if we don't sign gross). The perceived need at WR is not a true "need" IMO.

Teams that are very close to the big game can't always take BPA. Teams that are not so close have to take that person.

IMO

I think your likely off in that.

See to me that O line need, is really just for depth/backups, which means later round picks.

QB should be replaced by CB and of course we need DL, but still shouldn't pass up franchise career players for a reach.

To me QB should FOR SURE be addressed next year, with its bigger pool of QB's. We will see how they handle it though.

It appears to me that this draft over all really isn't that strong.

I liked Drew Carter cause he can jump. If he can learn to be a possesion receiver, and go up and get the ball then he could end up being a Larry Fitzgerald type of receiver.

I think there are some questions on the O line, Vincent, Gross, Hangman, etc.....

I think that the corners are fine.

I get the whole "need" argument. I just don't want to regret anything in the vein of Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan.

I'd only want a WR if we had a top ten pick because I predict the 4-5 superstar potential WRs will be gone fast. If we don't get something good in return for Pep, then forget it. I'm only making all of my points in reference to:

Crabtree (Texas Tech)

Harvin (Florida)

Maclin (Missouri)

Nicks (UNC)

Robiskie (Ohio St)

To be fair there is also: Heyward-Bey (Maryland), Iglesias (Oklahoma), Tate (UNC), and McKinley (South Carolina), but they'll all fall. Hell if we can nab one later on...perfect.

I was talking about this earlier in the week with the red domed one....I think they are fine as well if they are allowed to press and play to their strengths. Aso and Champ would have gotten torched playing the same D as we threw out there.

It goes back to only having 1 PI penalty on the year....thank god Lewis is gone

Well this can be easily figured out if/when we sign Gross, but Vincent is still under contract, he was just injured.

Hangmans loss would be huge, and we would need to snag a back up center.(and hopefully one as that can play G too)

I think what Panthro wrote got me back on track with that, because I can definitely see how it was the scheme that failed our DB's.(because i sure as hell am one of the ones who hates(hated) that defense)

Wasn't Lewis' scheme. But he was responsible for making it work.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
