A lot of folks seem to want to trade him if we draft Luck. I think that would be a big mistake... why let him go before we get the chance to see if he'd develop or not? Why short-change the team in case Luck really doesn't pan out as well?

My take is, provided we draft Luck, we keep both, let em battle it out in TC to see who is the better prospect, and hire on a Vet to come in and mentor and/or ease them into starter in a year or two by starting next year.

I'd like to see us pick up someone like Orton or Croyle. Nothing we couldn't replace ina year or two, if need be, or someone who won't mind sitting the sideline while devloping the young guns. Just not sure Orton would want to go back to being a backup or not.

What role? He got lucky with a terrible check down pass to Goodson and a heave up to LaFell.

He does NOT look like an NFL QB. He looks like he is lucky not to trip coming up to the line.

Thank god for this loss. We need luck...or else, we will suck ass for several years with Clausen and the helm.

Agreed. The pass to Goodson should have been a pick 6 but the defender had his back turned. It was luck. LOL at the 62 QB rating.

Matt Moore, *slurp* on the other hand....

has won every legit competition he's ever been in?

Beat out Olson at UCLA his Sophomore year before getting hurt, transfers to OSU and beats out hometown favorite Gunderson(sp) and starts from day one.

You like to think I love Matt Moore, but you've openly stated you love Jimmy Clausen. I'm sure you'll meet some really nice guys next year that come from rich backgrounds and had no real friends growing up that you can bond with okay?

    • It is.  Even the mid to late round guys are super appealing and would have been ahead of Trevin in his drafft.  Deontae Lawson - just look his stuff up, lot's to like Jimmy Rolder - absolute force.  Limited sample size but the sample is pretty dope.  (one of my favorite sleepers) Keyshaun Elliott - stud run defender, great size/length, is always wrapping plays up, high IQ.  Even this dude Owen Heinecke is an interesting guy.  Not some dog in the middle but will absolutely be an asset for particular teams (I.E. Minny would be an awesome fit)
    • It's not explicitly saying it, it's suggesting that we draft a certain position, regardless if the receiver has the higher grade.  We would never had made the playoffs without T-mac. Morgan did the absolutely right thing, and that's what I hope he continues to do in the draft, which is follow the board and draft impact players. He used free agency to set up the draft for just that purpose. For anyone that thinks last season was anything but an improvement, I don't know what to tell 'em.  The goal is to keep the momentum going, and I'd say that addressing our three biggest needs with arguably the best players at their respective positions this free agency, and legit quality players to boot, goes along way toward building the foundation of long term success. Before free agency, no one was picking us to win the division, now more than a few analysts are, and that's before the draft. Pull your bootstraps up where you are and get to work. We aren't as good as we need to be, but the needle is moving in the right direction.
    • The Bengals absolutely fuged up paying Higgins elite WR money. You can't have your QB and two WRs eating up your whole cap or you end up with... well, the Bengals. Your QB is getting killed because your OL is trash and you can't stop anybody because your D is trash because you can't afford a balanced roster. Unless you're smacking it out of the park in the draft you're gonna be hard pressed to put a good team on the field despite an elite QB and WRs.
