How can a loss when your team is 1-9 still hurt?

I don't know, but I do know that the game today did hurt. I really thought that we had a chance today. I even said so Monday (http://www.carolinahuddle.com/forum/carolina-panthers/50466-i-think-we-beat-cleveland.html)

We did not play great, but we played ok and we should have won that game. I knew Jake owed us at least a pick 6 and he delivered.

Kasey has been with us from day one, but he has caused me some pain over those years. I will never forget that last kickoff in the SB.

I know it is not his fault. I am just pissed! I know that we are still in the running for the #1 pick in the draft, but damn... it would be nice to have won this one.

I know this is rambling, but this was one of our best games of the season (except for our 1 win).

This was the game I hung my hat on... My God here comes 1-15 again.

Also, can we get Steve Smith the ball somehow more than 3 mother f'ing times per game.

I am sad.

I just laughed after Kasay missed that kick.

It was just so frustrating.

We should've won, but we just weren't allowed to.

Phantom penalties by the refs, poor replay reviewing on that first LaFell catch, and then right off the upright, it's like no matter what we did we just weren't allowed to win.

I stared in shock

Was Frustrated.

And then I just made myself laugh, just because.

I'm still angry.

I was extra angry because I'm in a huge money pool for pick 'em and the numbers are dwindling. Most people picked Cle over Car, I went with Pit over Buf (I have serious issues picking against us). That win would've really helped.*

*I would be mad even if it weren't for this

I had a chuckle myself as I turned off the set before the broadcast finished, as soon as the kick missed (after I waited to see a Fox/Delhomme or Smith/Delhomme greeting on the field which I didn't see).

I think this one stung because we were actually in this game down to the wire, with a realistic chance to win. There haven't been many of these this year so it was a different experience. But, I can accept losing a hell of a lot better than I could a month or so ago.

    • I get that, but given his college production, his actual skill set, and what he's shown in camp, he really just seems like the only way he doesn't at least play to his floor is if he can't stay healthy or he just gets a huge head and stops putting in the effort, the latter of which I don't see happening. So hopefully he stays healthy (knock on wood), but there's unfortunately no way of predicting health, you can really only predict a player not able to stay healthy if they already had problems doing so in college.
    • In it self no it's not a bad thing. It becomes an issue when they brought back Austin to play on IR most of the season again. That's not a knock on Mays but the situation. It's BC at LG all over. But on the flip side that's how they were forced to go out and sign a good LG the next year.  All of the talk and hope of improvement comes down to guys like Mays taking that step. There is something developmentally going on that Im not impressed with going on with this team. Austin and Dalton were 2 guys they obviously can't lean on at this point and yet both are still here taking up space.
    • Hands on a WR? That's crazy. Next you will tell me the ability to get separation is better than size...
