Munnerlyn likely to start over Gamble.

per Yasinskas.

here’s nothing official yet because the Panthers are practicing at the University of Washington this afternoon as they adjust to the time zone. But indications from a team official are that cornerback Captain Munnerlyn (shoulder) probably will play and start ahead of Chris Gamble (fractured relationship with coach John Fox) for the second straight game. Guard Travelle Wharton (toe) looks likely to miss another game.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Yes, Gamble did quit on the team, and in my mind, quitting is absolutely unacceptable, but with that said, Gamble has been good player and a great locker room guy for a long time. We've never had any issues with him from a behavioral stand point-at least as far as we know-and there have been indications that Gamble walking out of practice was more than just football related.

So, I definitely agree with the decision to bench him last week, but this week, i don't know how I feel about it.

Did he quit on the team, or on Fox?

If Gambles head ain't in it, then Cap should start. He did great last week, let's see if he can build on it.

Agreed.

Don't write Munnerlyn off just because of his size, once upon a time there was a WR that was too short to play in the NFL...

Fox is being a jackass. I love Cap'n, but Gamble apologized for what he did wrong. With all the mistakes Godfrey and Marshall have made, and you punish Gamble 2 weeks in a row for something he apologized for (while he's making top CB money)???

May be another subtle shot at JR.

who?

The knock on Steve Smith coming out of Utah, was he was a hothead, small and fragile. Some figured he would make a good return guy, but most teams prefer 6 foot 2 or so. Steve Smith plays 6 inches taller than he is, and alot more physical than his weight may indicate.

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
