10 Things That Grind My Gears

1) Clowney has #87 as his jersey. This jersey should have been retired after Muhammad retired.

2) Godfrey was chosen as the player the team is most thankful for when his abilities cause players like Chris Gamble to be blamed for blown coverages. This in turn, causes a domino effect, which adds further disaster to an already terrible season.

3) JR's silence in the whole situation, not apologizing to fans, or at least not giving us an explanation on his future plans with CAR. Although it is rather clear the direction we are going in.

4) Fox's mental handicap on understanding how to utilize a rookie QB in his gameplans. Which never seem to change.

5) No half time adjustments.

6) Placing players on IR who have minor injuries, or at least a chance to come back this season.

7) Fox's lack of value at the QB position. Anyone can play QB in CAR with at least 4 practices under their belt.

8) The fan base calling for D.Williams to be released or traded because we have Mike Goodson. Who has had 2 good games, and 1 decent game. Though his potential looks good, and he shows great skill in the open field, to think he is better than D-Will (a top 5 NFL back) is rediculous. Especially since Williams wants to stay in CAR.

9) The fact that Fox won't dress Armanti Edwards during a game, and give him at least SOME playing time at WR (not QB). And believe me, I'm not an A.E fan by any means. I just believe since the season is lost, we need some film on him for the next coach to evaluate.

10) Not getting Steve Smith involved early, or consistently getting him the ball. Do it some how, even if it's a WR screen or a wild cat formation. Run more short-intermediate patterns to keep from setting up 3rd and long, which we run a draw play and then punt, which according to Fox... "puntings a good play".

I know I left a lot of things out. Could of made a top 100.

My question now is this....

What grinds your gears about this season?

this is a result of having a lack of depth at a position. in order to sign someone, someone has to go.

no one is saying goodson is better than williams. i think people are waking up to the fact that the run game can still be successful without him.

Retired numbers are for Hall of Fame worthy players. Moose was good, but not that good.

Richardson has apologized to people personally and to fans in general via Sorenson.

Players do have some say in whether they go on IR, though ultimately it's a team decision.

Fans are always going to want goofy things.

Edwards bears some blame too.

Smith isn't what he once was.

Our defense plays zone, but we have players who are better at man coverage. Gamble has usually sucked at playing in a zone. a lot of his INTs early in his career were the result of playing Man with safety help deep allowing him to take a Gamble (I had to).

retire moose's number? why?

Holds many Panther records, 2nd best WR in his draft class, Experts say there is a good possibility of him going into the HoF. And just to put icing on the cake, he holds the record of longest TD catch in superbowl history. This player was great, both on and off the field. He made plays. He deserves to go into a ring of honor, but I can settle for retiring his jersey.

we're desperate for history here in carolina aren't we?

I love moose, he was one of my favorite players. But.

only 3 seasons with 1000 yards. He is AT BEST, the 3rd best receiver in his draft class (and that's arguable.)

HOF? Are you high? Which experts?

    • Most EVs are in the 90+ e-MPG meaning some measurement house somewhere compares the EV to a similar ICE model and works out how much is costs to charge (on average) versus fill up as a point of comparison. Talking long term, in the hundreds of thousands of miles?  No clue.  Some early signs are that EV batteries maintain 80% charge over 400k miles.  So there's that.   The challenge and charm of an ICE vehicle is being able to park it under a tree, get your jack stands out and tinker with your engine.  There's just not that same level of complexity in an EV.  I saw someone estimate there are 200 or so moving parts in an EV, and 2000 in an ICE vehicle.  I'm not a part counter so I can't really speak to that. I think that the EV is more the future than any type of combustion engine.  Those will still be around in specific purposes, but for most people - an EV will be the superior option in terms of efficiency.  I say that as someone who loves stupid horsepower numbers out of turbo 4 bangers and inline 6s...  I am one of those tinkers when I can be. A bigger issue for EVs is going to be the ownership versus lease.  Right now, there are INSANE leases on EVs, which is great, but what do you have at the end of that lease?  Nada, maybe some equity if you're lucky.  Where as I'm almost done paying for my car, and plan to keep it until the wheels fall off (or my son wrecks it when he starts to drive).  Will EV makers do the smartphone thing and build in planned obsolesce?  Stop updating software?  I love the tech in EVs, and I think getting more cars and trucks off the road is a good thing.  But I am still just a little concerned.  Capitalism has gotten far too extractive.
