I like the Bobcats name and image etc, and I never saw a need to change it. I'm open to the idea, but don't view it as necessary.

The best thing about it in my view is that your team is no longer a 5yr old team.

We can add on to the historic marks (franchise RB leader, 3pt leader (Dell)) and reclaim our history (Dell, Muggsy, LJ, Zo,) and actually give tribute to our Hornet greats in our own arena without it feeling weird.

We would actually have throwback jerseys, a whole new marketing goldmine for MJ, which we don't have now.

Funny thing is, after reading the Hornets forum, a lot of their fans seem to think the Hornets name should have stayed in Charlotte. They commented on how the Hornets brand just doesn't fit with N.O. They think that's one of the reasons the team has never been embraced since moving to N.O. And many of them are hoping for a rebranding...Assuming the team stays in N.O.

If the new orleans team rebranded, I wonder what it would take for them to get the jazz logo from Utah. Utah JAzz makes zero sense. Maybe if there is a lockout next year in the NBA, they will use that off time to settle any rebranding crap.
