I agree with Snake Fist, and Miaoww. It would be really hard for him to be successful here although I think he has developed into a passer and I wouldnt mind us taking him but we wouldnt be as successful as philly.. I just dont understand people that say "I dont want us to LOWER ourselves to get Vick". Is that people still butthurt for his "dog killing" or is it something else like he use to play for the Falcons who we absolutely cant stand?

To be fair I think Vick has served his time for his crime and has done quite a bit to try and repair his relationship with the community.. so this poo about us "lowering" ourselves is , in my opinion a lot of crap.

If anyone outside of Tony Dungy says that they believed that Vick would rededicate himself to the game like he has -well- you're fugin lying.

Yes the WCO helps. Yes having great WR's helps. But what you're seeing with Vick now is hours upon hours in the film room. He has rededicated himself to football in ways no one thought possible.

In hindsight, I was right. Vick wouldve made us alot better, made us alot more entertaining, and would've made us alot more relevant to the rest of the league and sports in general. Vick would've thrived here and made better use of the weapons we have than the QBs we presently have. Bringing in Vick also would've made the D better, because there is no way Peppers walks if Vick is his QB. He would've re-signed, probably at a discount to be a part of that. Panthers dropped the ball on that one. Wasnt the first time though, and wont be the last.

Time to start counting again:

1) Not ONE PERSON could have predicted Vick would play this well. Why? look at his numbers prior to this year. Go ahead and lie and say you knew, and after that, use your crystal balls and give the next winning lotto numbers.

2) We don't have Andy Reid, DesSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin, and Brent Celek on the same team. he's NEVER had this many weapons on offensive at the same time.

3) He's playing in a WEST COAST OFFENSE. see #2, Andy Reid, hes done very well with Vick. Vick has never thrown the ball with this type of efficiency. Some of it is Vick, the rest is the system and the coach.

4) /f**king thread

You also have to add to this excellent post that Vick was never an opttion in Carolina anyways. Jerry Richardson does not hire players with criminal pasts. Period.

We covered it here:http://www.carolinahuddle.com/forum/carolina-panthers/44515-things-that-will-never-happen-in-carolina.html ;)

Eh, Vick was either gonna be really good or really bad. That extra year behind McNabb helped him tremendously. I think of it like this. If he does it two years in a row (putting up these numbers), then yeah the guys a NFL stud, but weve all seen miracle seasons before, then mediocre seasons after that. Just saying.

    • As I've said numerous times the last few days, having Thielen on the field has literally 0% to do with my views on this (I've even said I think Renfrow is going to take a ton of snaps from Thielen anyways).  He has more value to this team without playing a single snap than a 2026 5th round draft pick does for the franchise.   His value is helping set up T-Mac, XL, Coker, and Horn for long term success by helping them learn how to be pros, how to go about their business, how to train, how to do all the little things that helped turn Thielen from a D2 undrafted player into a borderline Vikings legend.
    • He only wants to be traded because it's the Vikings who are calling. If he didn't want to be here, he could have retired, instead he took a pay raise to come back for another season.  I get it, it's an opportunity that he'd like to take, but we shouldn't cut off our nose to spite our face because he now wants to jump at this opportunity less than two weeks before the season starts. I'm not against trading him, I'm just against trading him for a return that doesn't help our team as much as having him on the roster would.  I'll put it this way, if a 5th is the best we can get for him from the Vikings and he's now dug in on not wanting to stay this year, I'm saying screw you and trading him to any of the other 30 teams besides the Vikings for the best offer we can get. He was perfectly happy here a week ago, if the Vikings soured him on that and then want to get him for peanuts, then screw them both.
    • Yes and no, he wants to go back and his wife most definitely wants to go back. He took a bunch of team mates to Minny and has worked out with JJ two offseasons in a row. It's where both him and his wife are from.    The money was basically a please come back and help Bryce. Pretty please...here's some more money.    Now he's agreed to a paycut to go back to the Vikings.
