Help, Advice, Dog Problem

I love dogs. Got a dog myself. Here is my problem. My neighbor lets her dog run free. The dog is not mean and seems pretty friendly. He is a little smaller than a German Shepherd. The dog poos in my yard. There are piles near every entrance to my home. This dog poos big too.

My neighbor is a good neighbor. I just don't feel I have the raport to talk to her. I like these people and do not wish to start a problem that can last for years.

The only options I can think of are:

Call county animal control.

Talk to my neighbor, and risk the relationship.

Pellet the dogs fanny. (this may not be effective.)

Do nothing. (Shovel the poo as needed.)

Anything more creative?

Re-order of events:

1- Do nothing. (Shovel the poo as needed.) (you already tried this, neg. results, right?)

2- Talk to my neighbor, and risk the relationship. (yep, that's next step. If you can't handle this, then keep shoveling.)

3- Call county animal control. (only remaining option that couldn't get you in trouble in some way.)

Dumping poop in neighbor's yard, while morally fair, is littering and trespassing, if not some other crazy NC State Statute. Pelleting the dog, while effective, would be cruelty to animals, and extremely embarrassing if this all came to a head at some point. If you look at it from other person's perspective: What would you do if you saw someone shooting pellets at your dog? I'm not a violent person, but that kind of thing would provoke an aggressive response in the most passive of people, myself included.

3 stages of dealing with the neighbor:

ask them- (talk nicely)

tell them- (fix this or I will call AC and prosecute)

help them- (call AC and DO prosecute, following through to the end)

(ref: I work directly with the ACO's where I live, unfortunately I live in VA, so I can't/don't have the resources or contacts to be of more help.)

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
