Panthers are the Panthers. They're gonna reach for a QB because the best one available doesnt fit the image they want, in the end setting their franchise back a few years. Im confident Newton will be the better player regardless of where he's drafted. Im not confident Luck can handle the hype and pressure fans like yourself are gonna put on him if he comes here. Do you really believe he can live up to being better than Cam Newton? Because thats what you will put on him. He cant even do that now with all the hype in his corner. LOL. How is he gonna do that behind our OL in a division with better QBs in Ryan and Freeman? Luck is gonna end up being a slightly better Clausen for us.

Cam Newton will set the black QB back 10 years.... "Thug till I die", 2 pac.

Someone suggested 17. Not sure Jackie Miles would give that one out just yet.

well that...also its a double digit number that doesn't have any superstition to it or is more recognized as someone else in Panthers history wearing it. (I know Frank Reich had it, but it was just for a year) And 14 is the next even number after 12.

Teams have ignored character issues in the past and the result has been to be forced back years. Look at San Diego with Leaf for one. They looked past the questions of maturity only to be kicked in the head. In addition to the loss of a quality pick, you also have the guaranteed money issues that can impact a cap and magnify the hit.

Thats the tone you get out of this fanbase. They demonize all black QBs to rationalize not wanting them. If we portray them all as the "devil" or the worst thing that could happen to us, then we dont have to feel guilty or "racist" about not wanting any of them. Im glad people outside of our fanbase are starting to pick up on that and see why we've struggled so much as a franchise to win and remain relevant or entertaining. Dudes cant attack what Cam does on the field, so they attack his character. Thats how I know he's head and shoulders the best QB coming out.

Cam Newton is a joke and will not succeed in the NFL

A SEC Championship in a down year? Oh snap! Some wins while riding The Golden Calf of Bristol's coattails?

Oh yeah, didn't he win some games at Bin College? Oh, was it Blan? Blun? Blynn? Blinn? I don't know what the name is, where the hell it is, or how many people actually even go there. For all I know, Armanti Edwards could dominate there.

I wouldn't go as far to say that either of them are "proven winners". Because, really, neither of them have won a heck of a lot.
