What a classless move by the Carolina Panthers.

Awesomeness!!

You know what John Fox should do? Go out there, and punt the ball every 1st down. (We're going to be punting 3 plays later anyway). Obviously he has to know he was done after Sundays game, but to do this 2 days before a game is pretty classless. This isn't college football where people switch teams in week 5 or whatever. I hope the players go out there and play their hearts out for this man. They always have, and I hope they do it one last time Sunday.

So, you think there have been absolutely zero conversations between Fox, Hurney & JR on this? That Fox was totally surprised by this announcement?

For the most part it seems that Jerry and John has significant respect for each other. I believe JR respects what John fox has done and trust him.

I think that Fox is a very high character and his players does and will play Sunday with focus and dedication. For JR it is simply business, and he knows Fox is still going to do his best coaching on Sunday.

Plus Fox all ready knew this day was coming... so it's not like a blindside on Survivor (Shout out to Nance & Huddle Survivor... I enjoyed watching that game).

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
