Put yourself in Lucks shoes.

You just won the Orange Bowl and are getting bombed with questions if you are staying or going.

You sit down with your parents on whether to stay or go.

Here are the things running through my head.

1. Your coach is probably gone. - Leave for NFL.

2. Right now if you go to the NFL you know you will be living in Charlotte NC

(This could be bad or good. On the plus side Small market city, Nice weather. Bad side Small Market city.) push

3. Panthers organization after doing research Luck will see that we have a decent owner that treats his players good. Will spend money when needed but will also not overspend. His dad will guide him on this and should give the Panthers are good mark. He will see that Richardson will do what needed to help Andrew succeed.

4. Coaching - This will be the big point. The Panthers need to get in place a coach so Andrew can see who would be coaching him before he commits. This is the reason I think we will have a quick hire at coach. incomplete.

5. Uncertainty of next years draft. Next year Luck will not have a option at which team he goes too. He could be drafted by the Raiders and do little about it. (besides demanding a trade). I dont think Luck would that. Favors entering the draft.

6. Money - non issue push

7. Finish degree - yes this will be factored but I think in the long run it wont be the determining factor.

8. Lifestyle change- If he wants to enjoy his last year of college then this will be a big factor. I think this will push his decision.

I really think he will come out. The Panthers are not in a bad shape and could be contending within 2 years. The oraganization as a whole is a good one and I think the riding factor will be who we hire as coach. Still think we will announce the new coach within a week and Luck will decide right before the deadline.

Anyone who thinks he doesn't want to play here should consider that Stanford wasn't a very attractive option when he decided to commit there. He could've gone anywhere he wanted, but chose Stanford who was coming off a 1 win season because he wanted to play for Harbaugh.

He's coming out.

Last nite after the game he got asked the question

reguarding his staying or leaving. As he stated the company line responce,

the camera honed in on his dad. His dad got a big smile on his face, said

something to the person beside him and they both started laughing. I just

thought it was a funny thing to do while your son was on the biggest stage

of his life........ and you laugh at his responce to a serious question about

his future.

    • Yea when teams see a gun charge they rightly pause but this seems like a big misunderstanding.
    • Sorry man you lost me at "Teppers have evolved as owners". Limped into playoffs at 8-9 not even above .500 Tepper is trash as an owner bro and that's not even a discussion at this point. 37-83 w/l ratio. Nuff said.... Morgan tho, he's cooking and it ain't cuz of Teppers leadership
    • After listening to Morgan's presser twice, I came away with some key beliefs. First of all, I don't think he's a bullshitter. What you see is what you get. When he says something, he means it.  The Teppers really have evolved as owners. Morgan has mentioned how they're easy to work with--a pleasure to work with a few times now. There seems to be a good relationship between all of them (and include Dave Canales on that). We'll see if it lasts. Yes, no one wanted to come to Carolina with the previous management, but that seems to have changed. The team signed arguably the top Edge, LB and OT on the market, two of them on pretty good deals and one on what I'll say is "not a bad one." And, credit Sunshine Dave "Flowers and Cotton Candy" Canales for helping to change the culture. Morgan mentioned getting guys--and I'm paraphrasing--that are not only great football players but great people. Don't look for us to be acquiring any James Pearce types anytime soon, just saying. We'll see if that holds true in the future. Dan Morgan really has set up the Panthers to take the BPA/BAP. He mentioned it at least a couple of times, and he doesn't seem pressured to pinpoint a particular position. He just wants quality players that will help the team. This is how it's going to be (to your joy or dismay, probably for as long as he's here), and personally I love it. Many of us know how Morgan was when he played: aggressive! That's what he's going to be when making acquisitions. He explicitly said it, and emphasized it. All avenues are open (think FA, waivers...the draft)! Personally, as long as it's controlled aggression and not reckless aggression, I love it.  On KP: "Mobility is big in this league."  He basically says if another QB is the BPA while drafting--we're going by our board, people--we're going to add them.        ...
