Richardson has Ruined Our Franchise

Just remember we wouldn't have a franchise if it wasn't for him

And he wouldn't be the owner of a franchise if PSL owners hadn't stepped up with their money in 1993.

I've said before I executed agreement for Club Seat and 100 Level PSL's in August '93. There has been a vacant seat next to my Clubs from the beginning. Originally those PSL's were $1,500 per each. Panthers are now asking $7,500 per each. I figure $1,500 per PSL isn't too bad for me to eat if amortized over 18 years. I am not renewing my season tickets next year because the ticket price is going from $140 per seat to $200 per seat. So J.R., you'll be looking at 3 vacant seats from your ivory tower.

My 100 level PSL's are listed for sale at that "PSL Source" site that advertises at the top of this board. Go buy them if you have the guts.

I said it before that JR would not spend the money for the #1 pick. Now he sabotages it with a presser and has a built in excuse to trade the pick away. Why in the world would you do a presser that you have not done in 9 years before the #1 pick declares anything? Why not wait then do your damn press conference with an exclusive with Morgan?

He should fire himself.

Sure it was just a coincidence that Luck decided to stay at STanford the day after JR's press disaster. Even if he had nine days left to decide and Harbaugh's status was still in the air. JR's put a stench on this franchise that is foul indeed.

And no we wouldn't have a franchise in Charlotte without him, that being the Jerry Richardson of 15 years ago, who boldly announced he wanted a Super Bowl in 10 years. The Jerry of today draws pie charts, past Jerry would kick present day Jerry's ass.

we have no idea what impact JR had on Luck, if any.

he's been saying all along he wanted to stay in college until he stopped saying anything. We just chose to believe a long shot.

Are you kidding me?? We have no idea what impact it had? I guaran-freakin-tee you that if the 49ers had the #1 pick then he would have declared the next day. Instead, JR postures like he's Dan Rooney when he doesn't have the rings to back it up and now nobody thinks we are a legit franchise.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
