Well obviously now it's easy to say that. But if you believe Newton is any smarter than Jawalrus I really don't know what to tell you.

What has Newton done to make you think he's dumb? He certainly is smart on the field...just look at his INT to TD ratio and his QB rating. Clearly the guy can think on his feet...Russell is more into eating cheesburgers and slurping purple drank on his feet.

I'm sorry but the drafting of Cam Newton would set this franchise back even further. Besides, What good would any QB in this offense if they have no WRs to throw to. The pick needs to be A.J. Green.

Newton is more comparable to Michael Vick than Jamarcus Russell. Strong arm, amazing athlete, and potential character problems. Jamarcus was big, slow and lazy, and that was obvious before he was drafted.

I'm not saying we should draft Newton, but I believe with the right coaching and mentoring that Cam can become a good QB in this league.

Plus if he were to be drafted by us, that would instantly pump some much needed excitement into this franchise.

No, all this talking about him will make him feel it's more acceptable to fail, since everyone already expects it. Especially since he'll already have his millions.

5 teams below us will be looking for a QB. You dont think any of them will draft Newton... He has the size and arm of Payton Manning, Good Comp %, and has the speed of a NFL RB. The only two knocks on him are buying stolen goods and his Dad.

I hope my fellow Panthers fans will take the time to OBJECTIVELY evaluate the way he performs in the Natl Championship game against OREGON. It will be an excellent opportunity to take a look at his potential (How his performances against ALA, LSU, AND South Carolina arent enough is BEYOND ME!!). Keep in mind, the Ore defense was one that Luck struggled against (0 TDs and 2 INTs in 2nd half). So we may see Aub coaches give Cam the opportunity to prove he can "outshine" the Luck.
