Would You Trade Down and Pick Up Tebow? Pair him with McDaniels ?

If any of you saw the The Golden Calf of Bristol documentary for 'Year of the QB' the other night, they actually had us listed on the agent's board as one of the teams that were interested in him on draft day. Me and Dpantherman briefly discussed it while it was on and I think most of us knew that the team was interested but we had no 1st rounder (thanks Everette Brown).

Anyway, I don't know how many of you saw Peter King's tweet/reports today that John Elway doesn't think The Golden Calf of Bristol is a "very good NFL QB" and depending where McDaniels ended up that team may trade for The Golden Calf of Bristol.

Two questions:

1) One which I've been contemplating for awhile... Would you bring in McDaniels as an offensive coordinator/QBs coach? I think he would be awesome for us in that role, just as he was in NE. I think it may have been too early for him as a HC in regards to the personality management aspect (Brandon Marshall, Jay Cutler, etc.)

2) Regardless of what happens with McDaniels, would you trade back in the draft for The Golden Calf of Bristol with the Broncos? I know they're only one position behind us, but I could see how they would be interested in a guy like Bowers at #1 and possibly Gabbert if they're stretching, who knows? But, if we could trade them the #1 pick or dangle it out there that we'd be trading with a team behind them and that team may look to take the player they have targeted as I think our #1 pick isn't as valuable as others have in past.

I think if we could trade back that spot and get The Golden Calf of Bristol and pick up their 2nd, it would put us in a better position at the QB position because I think The Golden Calf of Bristol will be a good NFL QB and a winner, and it would still allow us to pretty much take who we want in the 1st and get a 2nd in the process.

I know The Golden Calf of Bristol is pretty polarizing guy, although I think that's a bias based off of personal beliefs, but purely football-wise, what do you think?

EDIT: Don't feel like checking for errors, but may be some because I'm watching TV as I was typing, lol.

I would. At some point this offseason, we're going to have to take a risk on bringing in a QB.

Whether that's reaching for a rookie, or making a crazy deal, we're going to have to target a guy, and take a chance on him. We've got no choice.

The Golden Calf of Bristol showed promise last year, I'd take him.

Though it's crazy to think Denver would trade him to move up one spot for nobody..

Just no. So if Elway thinks The Golden Calf of Bristol sucks, why should we pick him up?

Just because Elway was a HOF QB himself in his playing days, doesn't mean he's a great evaluator of talent either. I bet Elway thought his son was better than The Golden Calf of Bristol... Look how that worked out.

I honestly hated Elways overbite ass until like the last 2 years of his career. I was a baby when he came out, but from how he handled himself, it's clear he's been a prima donna from day one, so I don't really care what he thinks.

If you saw those last two games he started/played, I saw an NFL QB, and a pretty good one. At worst he'd be a throw in player who'd be an automatic upgrade over Jimmy.

IF we picked up McDaniels as OC, I wouldn't object to that trade for The Golden Calf of Bristol. McDaniels had him playing pretty good at the end of the year, so I think he could turn him in to at least a good NFL quarterback. We would have our QB of the future, plus we could draft just about anyone with the 2nd pick.

Remember, Matt Moore had a GREAT record at the end of two seasons' garbage time. Doesn't mean he'll be a good franchise QB

Good point, but I still think Matt Moore can be a productive NFL QB with better coaching/surrounding circumstances.

That being said, I also think The Golden Calf of Bristol has better tools naturally. His delivery improved as well, and I expect him to get better.

    • I honestly feel bad for Willis. I mean, good that he got a decent (NFL QB speaking) payday and will be set for life, but in terms of actually competing and providing he's a legit starter? The Dolphins are gonna carry $175M in dead cap this year and they have an out in Willis' contract after the 2027 season. This seems like the most obvious tank job in history with Willis signed as cover for it.
    • I was scrolling X (Twitter) and I came across this clip....If I shows up here I'd be shocked.  Anyway it was supposed to highlight the blocking ability of Antonio Williams.  All I noticed is how well Blake Miller moved on pulls and in space.  I'm thinking it should be Miller Time in Carolina. I think with half a season of coaching that either Miller or Iheanachor could end up at LT, specifically Iheanachor with his footwork and those super long arms.  He's raw, but that could be a good thing with those natural athletic gifts.   https://x.com/NFL_DF/status/2033992963659796861?s=20
    • I am using Kelce more as an example of what people think you get with a 1st round TE.    3 f the top 4 yardage guys of all time are 1st rounders. I think. But realize these would be the guys with super long careers, and/or top QBs throwing to them. We don’t have a top QB.    And there have been Plenty of first round disappointments too. More of them than the all time leaders for sure.    We were treating Bryce as the ultimate ‘don’t fug it up’ game manager in order to get a few of those 8 wins. And to stay close in some losses.   1st round picks, starting in 2023 that have been used on a WR or on the QB? 2023 1 (qb) 2024 2 (1 & 32) (qb, wr) 2025 1 (wr) When does it stop?
