...and how much space you should give the car in front?

Everytime im on I-85, especially from Gastonia to the city, it seems like 95% of drivers are about 1-2 car lengths behind the car in front doing 85 miles an hour. Wtf?

it aint NASCAR people...you dont have a HARMS device or a roll cage.

For the life of me I do not understand peoples driving habit. Is it stupidity?

Teach driving?

You know what I got for my tenth birthday? A set of keys, a trunkful of moonshine, and a hastily drawn map on the back of a truck stop diner menu. All I learned of driving, I got from that experience.

I assume its the same with most people in the state.

so the concept of speed, momentum, human error and mortality never enters your mind does it.

I can't stand assholes who don't understand the concept of a passing lane.

True story:

Last Saturday I'm driving back to the city after visiting family near Thomasville. I have my cruise-control set at 77 in a section of I-85 that's 70mph. I come up on this souped up Chrysler Sebring (embarassing, huh?) going <70mph in the left-most lane. A. this pissed me off because if you're not passing anyone, get the fug outta the left hand lane. And B. because he had plenty of room to get over, and didn't which forced me to come off of my cruise control. So what do I do? I flashed my lights at him. He then SLAMS on the brakes which causes me to slam on the brakes while I have another 3 or 4 cars behind me. We were doing less than 50 in the left hand lane. Speed limit is still 70, mind you.

Turns out, a car one or two back from me is his buddy. He calls his buddy, and by this time I've gone into the right hand lane and this jerkoff has gone into the right hand lane right in front of me. Anywho, his buddy comes up right beside me so as to block me in on the left hand side. Fine, it's 3 lanes at this point, so I go to the right-most lane. Car in front of me (the Sebring) merges over as I do. And his buddy now gets in the middle lane. They're blocking me in. We're going 10 under the speed limit. This went on for a good 30 miles until right before Concord Mills. I was honestly getting nervous because of how they kept blocking every attempt I made at passing and would periodically slow down so much that it was frightening.

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
