Clausen's maturity

Which one?

These guys are all work in progresses in the draft, but accuracy and arm strength are both strengths of Gabbert and Mallett. They have pretty good accuracy on long throws from what I've seen, but admittedly I have seen much more of Gabbert and am mostly going on scouts and word of mouth & his game against OSU for Mallett.

However, both do have issues with pressure. Gabbert needs to learn to step up into the pocket to complete his throws instead of breaking it. Mallett needs to learn not to be a statue.

This is the best one. Watch his passes and you will see what Im talking about.

This one is not so good

psst.

look at the TD numbers, YPG, yards, completion percentage... then come back to that comparison.

Psst. look at attempts, sacks, 5% better completion rate and he is Peyton Manning? Also, Manning had Faulk and Harrison. Im not saying that Clausen is the next P. Manning, but dang dude, lets see what he can do other than judging him off of this disastrous season. Isnt it strange that M. Moore did a heck of alot better last season and sucked it up this season. Just saying, maybe it isnt all on the QB. IMHO, I think alot of the hate on Clausen started even before we played based on the "He was born with a silver spoon in mouth" thought, thus automatically making it personal.

are you kidding me. we had a great rushing offense in a multi-game period and Clausen STILL was terrible. comparing him to Manning is INSANITY. Manning destroyed rookie records. You're better off trying to compare him to Aikman or something.

I most definitely did not "hate on Clausen for his silverspoon." It was not until he was revealed to be the disaster he was last season that I jumped off the bandwagon.

I'm all for giving him a shot, but I won't tolerate people trying to point to Manning as a reason to do it.

I said I dont think he is the next P. Manning. The point I'm trying to prove is that P. Manning's stats aside from Td's , arent that much different than Clausen's stats, all the while it is after all Peyton Manning that put up those stats. Ill break my point down in layman's terms. If Clausen, in his rookie year, can have stats that are near Manning's rookie stats, then getting at least half of a Peyton Manning isnt too shaby. And I really dont care what you do and don't tolerate, Im using P. Manning's rookie stats as an example to show the haters that Clausen isnt a bust after 1 season.

at least the rookie QB's showed promise this year, clausen did nothing well. tell me what he did well?

He didn't completely break down after getting his butt sacked time and time again, or after having everyone and their mother give up on him, and end up going on an alcoholic binge similar to another Panther Qb drafted high.

Also have to factor in these are not great teams he is playing.

If you're going to talk about the teams he's playing you also have to consider who he was playing with and for. He was their offense for much of the year. He did have a decent team though, but he didn't have elite weapons along side him in both his years there.

He made some pretty tight throws against a lot of defenders in the Illinois video. How often did he see single high safety? He had a number of dropped balls too. His accuracy was pretty strong in that video. It was much worse against some of the better teams he faced, though he didn't get a ton of help either. I see why you feel his balls are a bit high but they didn't seem all that high to me. He fit the ball in some tight windows and at times he was throwing slightly high to avoid underneath coverage so his WR could make a play for the ball (especially on some of those routes into the middle of the field) but maybe I'm wrong.

Not saying he's worth a #1 though or anything like that. Just think he's a good prospect.

dude. Manning through like 7 or 8 times more TDs, had llike 20% higher completion percentage, threw for more than double the yardage... How the heck do you think this??
