American Idol

I am extremely offended someone actually had the balls to go on there and ruin a perfectly good Led Zeppelin song.

When will people learn.

I wish this show would die already.

You're right on all counts, but once you accept the fact that nearly every song, with very few exceptions, in the history of the show has been ruined, all you can do is hope for the best.

And, thanks to last night, I don't have to watch anymore. I have been saying all season this show has definitely jumped the shark and it's time is over.

Because they're already professional musicians.

yeah, because one was kicked off American Idol, two living in their parents basement, one a wana-be rock star screams professional musicians..

everything about American Idol sucks.. just accept the truth.

the judges and all the sensationalism make me want to drop an atomic bomb over the stage and save the world from what they themselves seem unable to do..

Haley was much better than the other 2 this week. But she knew she was gone. I think they'll make some great music.

Lauren is now the best on here. Scotty is so boring, and cheesy, but he'll win.

my dad watches this all the time.. he told me a few days ago she was going to get kicked off like Chris Daughtry, in that she was the best left and lost..

thought it was interesting considering she is leagues ahead of the 2 left.

She is leagues beyond the other two, and she has been the best performer since the beginning. Sexy, interesting, different, and she can sing. Everything you would want in an artist.

The operative word being "artist." The show nor the so-called "voting" public wants an artist. The winner will be tied into a multi-record deal with Fox, will sing songs written by someone else and will basically be a Fox puppet.

I dare say that many more of those who were booted off and didn't win have enjoyed more success than those who have won. Of course the obvious exception would be Underwood, but for the most part I think non-winners have probably had more commercial success.

couple Hawk thoughts...

this could potentially be the most boring finale ever!

I really really want to see Hailey naked

James didn't have the best vocals, but at least he was fun to watch

yes...I still miss Pia

    • That's part of being patient too. Not rushing players into roles they aren't ready for. Make them earn it. If you convince yourself that "so and so" needs to start because they were a first round pick, even though they have done nothing to earn it, you have set up both team and player for failure. You can convince yourself all day long that "there is no substitute for game experience" but if the guy can't do his job in practice, he can't do it in a game. Not consistently, anyway.  Teams like the Steelers, the Ravens and the Packers ROUTINELY bench rookies to start off with and no one bats an eyelash. Even if the team is losing. Because that's what they do. They have set the precedent. The players have to show they are ready. Then they get their chance.
    • Let me provide you with some food for thought. Before this "now era" of the NFL, QBs were allowed time to develop. Everyone from the GM to the fans had more patience. QBs were simply better in the old because they were afforded the time to sit, observe and learn. It's no wonder that guys we threw away, or simply didn't want, have had varying degrees of success elsewhere.  Some Huddlers were talking crazy about Jordan Love and Lamar Jackson---just crazy...
    • I think the JAG debates are largely people having vastly different definitions of JAG.  The OG JAG LB debate was James Anderson.  And James Anderson is probably going to be ahead of Shaq on my alltime LB list (it's really close though).
