Those Who Like Palmer, He's Demanding Trade

Palmer has always been in a situation where he has to throw 40+ times per game and go for 4K yards a season. If he comes here, that is not necessary. A lot of pressure wil be taken off of him. He will have a better running game to work with and decent receiving core. Also, the o-line here will be much better than the atrocious line that protected him last season.

The talent on this team is much better than our record last year. Getting a quality QB would improve our biggest hole...no one said he's elite, but he is still a quality QB.

just compiling stats doesn't make you a quality QB

might as well suggest jon kitna, he does as good a job (or better) as palmer and would cost us much less in a trade, in terms of both picks and salary. Not that I want to, but you're all for selling the farm for over the hill guys so...

Getting a quality DT would improve our second biggest hole. Getting both and combining that with an aggressive philosophy makes this team an instant playoff contender.

Yes lets spend our first overall on a 3-tech DT where you can find them pretty much anywhere

Hmmm

Marc Bulger: 27 TDs, 34 INTs the past 3 years

Palmer had 26 TDs just last season

Yeah. Bulger was also sacked 89 times in the 35 games he started in those 3 years. It looked like he was hit almost every play. *It's hard to get TDs when a qb is being injured due to a faulty Oline. Not every qb is like Rodgers.

Palmer was sacked 63 times in the 36 games he has started over the last 3 years.

He was sacked like 1.75 times a game compared to Bulgers 2.54 a game average? The Bengals Oline is horrible, but nowhere close to what Bulger had to put up with.

You are right there have been two, but Carson Palmer wasn't one of them.

Jake Delhomme and Rob Johnson were the two.

Palmer decided to rehab the elbow.

My bad, you are right he bypassed it...so we have Rob Johnson..out of league.

Jake Delhomme...soon to be out of the league ....

Im sensing a pattern here...so he did not have the surgery..so the injury is still lingering! Not trading a 5th rd pick to have him get free surgery on the Panthers dime!

The Bengals health insurance plan was purchased in a grocery store parking lot and does not cover Tommy John or Jimmy John surgeries..

I'm all for picking up a DT in free agency and taking Green at #1, that is IF a decent one becomes available. All I'm saying is here is an opportunity to easily fill our two biggest holes right now.

If we wait to see what other options present themselves, we may get lucky and get a better deal but we also risk losing out. Personally, I think you have to be proactive and go for it.
