Clausen getting back to work

If you mean by Clausen improving as in getting worse, then I've said nothing wrong. Yet if he truly wanted to improve, he would definitely have to change that throwing motion. Lastly, I seriously doubt Clausen will start next season.

It was just a childish response in a thread that it had nothing to do with. You asked if he was working on losing every game if we even had a season, then said you hoped we didn't.

Just didn't see the point of that in this thread. I'm a Clausen hater and didn't feel the need to post some bs in the thread.

As far as childish responses go, isn't there a little bit of that in every "serious" thread? Besides, what was the first thing I said in my post. He should change his throwing motion because his current one won't help him in the long run. Other than that, there is no improving with this guy. That was a serious point I made.

I just don't like the wishing us to lose every game then hoping for no season, there are a few other threads for that.

That's all.

I'll say this, with Clausen there is a chance we could lose every game. If we had Todd Collins and expected him to start for us next year, there would be a real chance we would lose every game. That is why we can agree on that guys like Clausen and Collins are not the answer. I'm sorry I wasn't clear about that, I would never wish we lose every game.

Hey it's not like UNC is a football powerhouse. I know what we are and that's a basketball school. Our football program is getting better under Butch Davis but no elite high school QB's are going to come to UNC. They all go to the big football schools like USC, Florida, Ohio State, Alabama and Texas. If TJ had played his whole career like he did his senior year you wouldn't think it's all that sad. Dude was amazing last year.

Just to chime in, after seeing the spring game, I thought Renner should've been starting... I guess they owed it to TJ though.

Glad to see Jimmy coming back to work early, this gives the new coaching staff a chance to evaluate him before heading into the draft/free agency.

*All the coaches gather at Panthers practice field to watch Clausen and WRs in throwing drills.

[1 throw later] *Spongebob narration voice*

(pass is deflected by tackling dummy at line of scrimmage)

Rivera: Yup, this guy sucks. We're gonna need a new QB. Let's go get some lattes fellas.

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
