Gabbert On The Radar?

College stats mean about as much as how hairy your legs are when it comes to NFL success.

I believe they're worth more than you think, especially when it comes to "supposedly" elite QB's.;) In fact, in that style of offense, he should have been putting up great numbers, since we have all seen scrubs who could do it.

Timmy Chang and Colt Brennan disagree, so does Chris Leak and Jay Cutler (6 wins in college).

It's all about how well the tools you posses transfer over to the NFL game. I'm also not sure who is calling him elite.

He's simply the best prospect in this draft at the QB position so the Panthers should do their research on him, just as they should the best WR, DL, DE, LT, etc.

I'll wait to hear what mayock thinks about it after pro workouts. I dont really give a shiit about the huddle's analysis. :)

LOL, that's probably a good idea, although he has been wrong before too. I doubt there is a scout, coach or GM who has a perfect record when evaluating QB's. The guys who got a good one were just lucky half the time.

He's already commented that it's Gabbert, Locker, Newton

He stole that idea from me although I had the first two as ALMOST interchangeable and Newton and Mallet interchangeable. :toetap05:

Gabbert finished the season ranked 69th in the NCAA. Is he really the best QB?

I agree, doesn't make much if any sense how some kid running a college spread offense and only threw for 16 TD's with 9 Int's is the best QB in the draft... but we'll leave it up to the scouts...
