you know, i've got to say that in spite of all the doubts i have about clausen, after reading that softball game thread and seeing all the crap that he's gotten, i'm actually pulling for clausen to pull it off and be the QB we need.

it would sure make life a lot easier for this team if he was and it would be awesome to see guys that have given him so much crap have to admit that he was actually a good QB.

i'd gladly eat crow about him if it meant we were winning games.

If you are a Panther fan and not for or against a player, of course you want Clausen to succeed. You and I may have serious concerns about whether he will end up being a franchise guy, but we both would like that to happen. Even if we bring in someone else, the best scenario would be to have several quality guys who could start. Given our history lately, we don't seem to be able to get through a season with just one.

It would be easier for sure and take away a major concern for the team. It just never seems to be that easy for us.

He never should have been put in until he had too. If moore had been hurt and we had no choice, I can see that. But Moore has 2 rough start's and here come's Jimmy. I'am glad Fox is gone. He should have let Moore stay in good or bad, he was the starter and Jake was given too much time after the elbow injury to prove he was not the same QB. Moore had the rug pulled out from under him, and Jimmy caught the backlash. Rookie WR's and a rookie QB, not a good idea. I'am not trying to bash Jake, he did a lot for this team, but that injury is tough for QB's to come back the same as they were before.

He looked bad this year. but the conditions were horrible. They are TRYING to run him off.

Then there are people on here who call in to radio shows and ask idiotic questions to Hurney in an effort to emabarrass him and make themselves feel better about their dismal lives. They claim to represent everyone, not smart enough to know that opinions are not shared by the masses. Then they post and brag about it, celebratign the biggest accomplishment in their lives since they made employee of the month at Jack in the Box.

still don't think conditions were horrible. Just b/c Matt Moore played like crap in a few quarter doesn't mean conditions were horrible. Clausen had a decent team around him.....and Fox was Fox. Lameduck or not...Fox is what he is. Jimmy got the same from Fox imo he would have got if Fox had a deal.

Clausen honestly couldn't do basics....and that made conditions horrible.

that isn't to take away from Clausen's negative attributes... but that is to say a ROOKIE QB didn't have any help either..

nevermind, we are talking about a ROOKIE QB... Aaron Rodgers was said to look just a bad as Clausen.. fortunately, and as should have been done with Clausen, was he had the opportunity to sit the bench for 4 years..

I agree, under Fox is not ideal for a rookie to have success. It also isn't ideal for a young QB like Moore either. Moore is not a good QB. Moore still was able to show some basics as a rookie and at other points in his career under Fox. The fact Jimmy struggled w/ those basics is a problem. I got no issues w/ a young QB making mistakes. I got no problem w/ a young QB not winning. What Jimmy did last season can't be defended by pointing the blame elsewhere.....he simply was bad.....and bad for a rookie in any conditions.

I am fine w/ giving them both a mulligan. The QB situtation was handled so poorly Fox imo should not have gotten a job. Moore being benched in a week 2 game was absurd. Fox essentially ended the season w/ that move and he knew Moore was the best option (but that is another debate and a question of if Fox was influenced). I mean Moore wasn't great....but we were told all camp how signifcantly better Moore had been looking than Clausen. Fox had prepped his team the entire offseason for Moore to lead them this season...........and Fox benched in week 2 in a winnable ball game. Dumb. Moore had earned 4 games w/ this team at least imo. Good or bad.

I wasn't excited when we drafted Clausen. Once we had him and definately didn't want him to see the field in Fox's last season. Ideally, he would have sat the bench this entire year and then sat 1 year under the new staff.......then he should have been given the keys to see if he could hang.
