Should Panthers go after Plaxico Burress??

People you've got to love the gun law's in NY, they put the man that caught the winning TD in the superbowl in prison for 2 year's for shooting himself in the leg. All that could have been avoided by wearing a good holster. Or did they lock him up just cause he had a gun, who know's. Anyway, no, don't need Plax.

To set the record, that bullet was lucky to hit his leg. Given it could have ended up severely hurting or killing a person or worse child and he'd be in for much more longer, I'd say two years is a pretty good deal especially in New York, they have to keep that kind of thing under control. If you going to be stupid enough to waltz into public with a gun the safety should be on or something, it doesn't take much sense so when someone doesn't do it the punishment should be rough. Have to keep the idiots out of society before they kill an innocent type thing.

I love how you mention he caught passes is the super bowl though as if it permits him to really do anything. Two years seems long but then again we don't really know the details.

All this could have been avoided by not bring a gun in public, especially one you obviously have no idea how to use, billions of people do it everyday. Would you want Burress to have a gun, even in a holster around you? Didn't think so... it is not normal for a normal citizen to think you have to wear one in public unless you live in the projects or something.

They shouldn't and they won't.
Place give me a few reasons why they wouldn't and they shouldn't?? Only thing he did is shoot himself in the leg while in public. From what I know of his past. He is clean. This nothing compared to what Vick did and Vick is now a Starter once again. Burress only shoot himself and broke a gun law. Nothing major. Why Big Ben rapes women and stills play football. I don't see the reason the panthers wouldn't take a chance on nhim for Vet mini.

Hey look 46&2, I did'nt say he was doing the right thing, and he was stupid for not being safe with the gun. I was talking about NY gun law's, not saying plax was right. Did'nt mean to upset anti-gun folk's, but I don't care. And I don't need anyone to permit me to carry anything. Those right's don't come from men. And why would a little kid be in a nightclub?

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
