Will lack of CBA affect Madden 12 release?

First, before you spout off, if you don't like or care about Madden then fug off because I made it clear in the title what this thread was about.

With that out of the way, will a lockout or lack of a CBA effect the upcoming years Madden installment? This is the first year I haven't played Madden online because of the ridiculous fee, but I'm gonna break down and pay if I don't get a new Madden this year. Anybody know how this works, because the game is licensed by the NFL and NFLPA both? Does it even matter?

its the off season, at least its something different than cam newton

it is possible that it could. for a long while, the LB arrington wasn't in the game due to issues with the NFLPA. they may not allow for the likenesses in it unless they already have a deal worked out with EA for that would encompass this season

madden sucked hard this past year, and I am a huge madden slurper. I honestly won't be upset if it doesn't come out due to the utter shite they put out this year.

No kidding. And have you seen Ron Riveras likeness? He looks like Dave Wannstedt(sp?). Has a mustache and all. WTF?

So if no Madden is released, it will bankrupt EA for sure and open the door to 2K games getting the NFL license back. So some silver lining perhaps?

Why would it? They will just slap 12 on last years game. oh wait, they do that already.

Did you even play the newe Madden or just watch a commercial? Removing turbo from the normal gameplay was one of the biggest changes in the Madden series in a long time. This game was one of the biggest changes from year to year than any I can remember. Ok... my nerd post of the day is complete.

In this year's mode, you get to be a player at the table in negotiations with the owners and you all get to complain about how little you're paid and then everybody gets to leave in their Bentley. If you click the wrong option, JR will offer to help you read a revenue chart.

    • If there's a pattern I'm definitely picking up from Dan and company is a philosophy of making trades where we try not to sacrifice the number of draft picks we have by day's end. In other words, we're not giving up three picks for one, or giving up a future pick to make a pick today. And even if we give up something at the start, we make trades later to make up for that initial loss. Here's how it stacked up for 2026: How we started: 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 How we ended: 19, 49, 83, 129, 144, 151, 227 (no future picks sacrificed) Ultimately, we moved up two spots in the second to ensure we got someone we coveted, gave up a few spots for our fourth round pick, but then had better picks in the 5th (and got really good value out of them), and had a worse 7th rounder which isn't that big of a loss anyways.  At this point, we can question who they draft, but they're pretty good maneuvering across the draft board.
    • I just saw the funniest thing...or very disappointing, depending how you handle misery. A guy on YouTube did a 2027 'way too early' mock draft.  If I told you the simulator has the Panthers selecting in the top 10 , what would you say?  If I told you it was pick #8 and only two QBs were taken in the top 7, what would you say?  If I told you this dude had us taking a defensive player, what would you say?
    • It is due diligence at that point. Irresponsible not to take him.  Crossing my fingers on this one, he has everything you look for except experience.
