I work at lifetime fitness in Michigan on Shelby and 21 mile...We sometimes get athletes that are Detroit known like Austin Daye, Jahvid Best, Stanton etc...Well today Eric Fowler whos now on the Lions practice squad, but was on the active roster came in. I got his autograph and talked with him a bit until my sales rep came to get him. I asked him about the lockout he said discussions are pretty much over, and that his agent told him to save his money because a lockout isnt just speculation anymore its 99.9% going to happen. There will be no season...On the bright side we get Andrew Luck!

His agent is probably covering his ass so if the talks really do stall, he can say he supported his client.

Until March 3rd, or an official notice from NFL.com about the cancellation of next season, I'm going to take any reports like this with a grain of salt.

Its looking more and more doubtful, but who knows, they might have a midnight signing of a new CBA in time.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
