Kalil or Johnson Likely To be Tagged

Why do some fan's think we should just let the best guy's on the team walk. Badass is right, I don't think we can afford not to keep guy's like Smith, Beason, Williams, Stewart, Kalil, Johnson, and gross. They are fan favorite's due to the fact they are the best player's on our team. Like badass said about Smitty, all this guy has done for this team and yet for some reason folk's are ready to see him out the door. If he wanted a trade that would be one thing, any other reason is a joke. Look what happened after Moose left for Chicago, only to bring him back later on the cheap. Moose should've been given the contract he wanted, we drafted him and then when he showed he was talented and worth the money, he's gone. Why try to build through the draft only to let the talent walk when they want to get paid?

Allowing our best players to leave will put us in position to draft Luck in 2012.

JR can save money by not paying some of our draft picks once their rookie contracts are up.

I'm looking forward to next season because I love Panther football, and I'll watch every game. But I think it's over for this franchise under JR. I'm with this team 100%, but I think the reality of the situation has set in. We have to dump superstars we drafted, while other teams pick them up and keep their draft picks as well. It's just sad, but I'll still have fun pulling for the Panthers. I hope the plan works, but basic logic tells me otherwise.

Damn! Now there is a fan who has come to terms with reality. Kudos to you PJ, may we all follow suit sooner than later.;)

I'd much rather you and all the other Panthers fans think we're going to have a good season, and that the team is making the right decisions. I like it when you guys are pumped up and happy about our future. It's more fun that way. Don't be like me.

Don't pull that madden poo on me. And yes Beason, Kalil, Stewart, Smitty and Kasay should retire here. Kalil is one of the best centers in the game. Johnson is the only viable DE we have and he is crucial. Despite everyones optimism about our DE's it could still be some time until another starter is found, whether we find it Brown, Hardy, or someone else.

Smitty should absolutely retire here. He's carried this offense on his back for the better part of the decade and only now do fans turn on him, degrade his talent, and blame him for poo that is not his fault and is out of his control.

Out of all the teams in the league we've had some of the more recognizable stars per team. Gross, Otah, Smith, Deangelo, Stewart, Beason, Peppers, Gamble, Kalil, Kemo, even TD. There is a reason our team has still been competitive despite our poo QB play/offensive playing and these guys are it.

Kalil and Johnson are guys that can be good for a very very long time. You build your team around them. Beason needs to be locked up too. Obviously we can't be expected to keep everyone but we can keep the guys we need with smart management, Deangelo is only guy I see us having a hard time keeping. It's also a question if he's worth keeping at this point. TD, Anderson, Kalil, and Johnson can definitely be put under contract.

TD might be the weak link here. Anderson so far has made him expendable, and recovering from 1 ACL tear is a miracle on its own, but 2?

Resigning TD to anything more than a vet minimal would be a bad move by this team.

Deangelo is must keep for this team, I love J-stew as much as the next man, but D-Will has hardly even reached his talent peak here. Although with Goodie's emergence as a pretty damn good RB has made D-Lo somewhat expendable. I can agree on that.

Crazy talk for the offseason, trade all the veterans in hope of being the worse team in 2011 and picking up Luck?????

First of all the offseason is the time for optimism and a new start under a new regime. The first time we have had an aggressive defense in 5 or 6 years. A quarterback coach who has actually played in the NFL. The number 1 pick and with it possibility.

We got rid of a ton of veterans last year and you see where we went. No need for a repeat this year.

We are going to be better I do believe. So the Luck sweepstakes are likely out. We aren't going to be bad next year. Too early to be more precise.

Assuming we play of course.
