Cam Newton: Self-proclaimed entertainer, icon

Get ready for the Cam-brigade to sweep in stating that it's just a tweet (or claiming you have to have arrogance in the NFL)...

That said, it's not much, but is brought to peoples attention simply because of what has proceeded this.

Again, it really isn't anything, but if I were him I wouldn't be touching any social media, interacting through anyone other than his agent (oh wait, it's his dad...) and only doing very controlled media interactions

Personally I don't care, but in this day in age, you ought to have the smarts to realize that you have to watch what you say. It doesn't matter what it is, you have to all times watch what you say and how you say it. He'll take his poo storm like a man...as he should. Still alot of time left to go.

Well, I hope he knows he gets paid to play football first and foremost. Does the comment itself scare me? not really. Does it bring his maturity into question, without a doubt. He has a lot to learn. Personally I was ok with the icon part, but entertainer? That is just a side effect of being great at football, same with being an icon and I do hope we don't pick someone just for attention, he isn't an icon or entertainer in the NFL.

    • Got to give some credit to the coaching staff on these. You can grab top talents but without good coaching, they just fizzle out. We've seen that a lot around here.
    • Oh, no TV for tonight's game unless you have the NHL Network, I believe. I could be wrong, hopefully?
    • Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.    I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should. Nearly sold on Scourton. Not sold on Princely but he had flashes. Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position. Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.  Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad. Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.   UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find
