But that's exactly why the Bears would need to trade up for him, because the whole league will know they plan on taking him if we pass on him, it won't be hard to bluff the Bears that we have someone else trying to trade up to take Jeanty, such as the Cowboys.

And that's even if a bluff is needed, if that scenario plays out, I guarantee we'll have trade offers for someone to try and get Jeanty anyways.

I also think it's all a moot discussion anyways, as I don't see him getting past 6.  Someone is trading up with the Jags to take him at 5 or I think he's going to the Raiders at 6.

I don't get all the Jeanty to the Jags talk.  I think that's the smokescreen.  Think they want to trade down and let someone take him.

They got 2 good enough RBs on the roster and tons of holes.  They were right there with us defensively in the gutter and they got basically 1 WR.  But it's the Jags so who knows.  Them trading down makes more sense than anyone.

You have no cards to bluff with. The Saints want to trade down, everyone wants to trade down. Nobody wants to trade up because they know they can just sit tight and get a good player to fill a need. If Jeanty doesn't go in the top 5 he will fall to the Bears at 10. If they pass and go OT then Dallas gets him. I think he ends up in Dallas without them trading up. I wish they would trade with us if he drops out of the top 5 but they know who will want to trade up as well as the Bears already. So you will not bluff anyone into a trade.

I think if he falls to 8 the Bears and Cowboys get into a bidding war with us as they’ll both want him, so sure, bluff may be the wrong term, but if he falls to us, I’d be shocked if we don’t make a trade with one of those two teams.

And the Bears won’t be able to stand pat then as there isn’t a scenario for him to fall to them at 10, it’s either trade up to get him or the Cowboys do

If Jeanty doesn't go to the Raiders his next likely stop is the Bears, but the desperately need an OT. So Dallas may fall ass backwards into Jeanty.

The Bears don't have to trade with us but Dallas does. Dallas can take the next best wr on the board which is what they desperately need. Everyone has options behind us and I do not think anyone will be desperate to trade up for him. Now the Broncos however may want to trade with us but I don't think Dan wants to go that far back.

But if Dallas is willing to trade up, then yes, the Bears do have to trade up to get him.

You’re making it sound like no matter what, the bears can stay put and get him, but they can’t.

Hell, even if he’s there at 8 and we don’t trade with Dallas, then Dallas has the same chance to trade with the Saints to take him before the Bears get the chance.

Which is why if Jeanty falls to 8, I think our best bet is to try and trade with the Bears, whether it’s bluffing a Cowboys offer or we have a real offer from them, the Bears have to take it into consideration that the Cowboys have 2 spots to try and trade above them for the guy they want

They do not have to trade because they can take a tackle. They are not desperate to take a RB. They may not take Jeanty even if he is there. They are the only team that "might" take him and it appears the wouldn't even if he is. You cannot convince Dallas otherwise in this situation.

The Saints are not taking Jeanty. They need defense and a qb. The Bears do not have to trade up because he will fall right into their lap.

Only way they trade up is if Dallas is trying to trade up

I'm not convinced that Dallas will need to trade up. They need a wr just as bad as a rb. They can just wait to see which fall to them. There will be a lot of d-line and o-line picks that will push skill positions down into the top 12 to 15.

Maybe they trade up because they got jumped last year by us and took their guy

I think if Membou is there we may take him. For both Graham and Membou to be there someone above us has to take another qb or another wr. That would blow up mock drafts everywhere lol.

I get that feeling too. If Membou drops to us he's the pick. BPA and a need.

I've been saying for awhile now that if there's a massive curveball coming tonight it's us drafting an OT.

I've had this feeling for a while too. It's one of our biggest needs imo. Particularly RT. Membou would be a great pick at 8 if he were available. If now I think it's the OTHER UGA guy.

OT is only a need if we think Moton's career may be over and not even play this season.

If the team isn't concerned about that, then an OT in the 1st round is the definition of a luxury pick, as realistically, no rookie OT should play a snap for us this year unless we have injuries.

If he is there and Graham isnt picked you can bet your ass posters will be saying a lot worse about morgan

If they pick Walker over Graham it wouldn't upset me.  We need LB more than DT

which is why now is the time to draft him so we're set for next season when I'm sure Moten will be gone. His career doesn't have to be over it just won't be here. Sometimes drafting ahead is the best move. Is there a player you think we can draft at 8 that will start day 1? If so, who?

If Jeanty is still there at #8, I think we trade with dallas picking up #44.  Dallas is desperate for a RB.  NO could trade up 1 spot to keep other teams from trading with carolina to pick Sanders.  Denver and Pitt are options but I dont think we want to trade that far down

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
