How would you feel if Bryce did this in 2025

Notice it is the same few people basically trying to find flaws to justify their dislike of Young. You are doing a good job but it won't matter what you say. They won't change their mind unless there is a tsunami of evidence that is irrefutable. The annoying thing is that when they are wrong you might get a 1 post acknowledgment months from now but have to suffer the constant negativity for months and hundred of posts in the interim.

I understand people have a hard time changing their original opinions. I’m also not saying Young is one of the best deep ball throwers. I’m saying a lot of fans thought he wasn’t capable of throwing deep passes in the NFL, that has been proven wrong. He is clearly capable of incorporating that in his game as show by the last 6-7 games and keep in mind he was using old AT as his primary deep threat in that time. I think too many fans think you need a cannon to have a good deep pass game (you don’t as it’s primarily timing and WR skillset). This is why Tua was suddenly decent at deep passes under McDaniel with Hill and Waddle catching passes. You still have fans trying to argue the same argument from Bryce’s rookie year where he had no deep passing in his game which has been proven otherwise.

CRA, honestly I think you're giving other QBs too much credit. WRs bail out their QB more times than not in tight coverage. Yes, sometimes it's a perfectly placed ball that only the receiver can get to. But the receiver still has to make the play. QBs just give them a chance - trust factor. In that last game against ATL, Penix threw a lot of passes he had no business throwing. His recievers made play after play for him - that and our secondary had zero ball skills. That's normally how it goes.

Panthers rarely have guys running wide open through defenses, so most passes are contested due to tight coverage not necessarily bad ball placement. It was that way for most of Cam's career. That's why Darnold struggled so much. That's why things got difficult for Baker. That's the difference in Carolina. And that's why they chose TMac instead of an Edge.

Bryce was trying to wait on a guy to get open, or get in a position where he could throw them open. That, mixed with a bad oline, was why he struggled so much early and lost confidence. Difficult ask for a rookie QB. Hopefully he's figured it out going into his 3rd season.

I don’t think being anti-Bryce was really a top 10 QB and great deep passer by years end  …..is giving the rest of the league too much credit.

People just running way too far with his improvement.  Which was massive by year end.  But that’s because of how bad he was…not because he was playing like a top tier QB

Some of yall are way too sensitive about Bryce.  Any QB is going to have doubters within the fanbase if they haven't won a Super Bowl.  You don't think that Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson have doubters within their team's own fanbase?  Bryce clearly isn't on their level (yet), so I don't understand the expectation that everyone get in line.

I’ve said this before, in retrospect I consider 2024 his true rookie year.  When I judge it from that standpoint there’s a lot to be encouraged and excited about. He wasn’t a top 10 QB in that timeframe but he definitely looked like a legitimate starting QB with upside potential. I do expect top 10 numbers this year.

Teddy Bridgewater was a check down QB….saying that doesn’t mean that he literally can’t and won’t throw downfield in a season.

Bryce Young was never drafted to be big armed downfield passer.  I don’t get those out defending him when it’s pointed out that he just  isn’t that.   And finding a game or two where he goes downfield doesn’t change much.  Because all QBs eventually go downfield.  Just like a Delhomme or Favre will play it safe in some random games.  Doesn’t mean they aren’t gunslingers that got gambling in their DNA.

It’s a fan message board. Fans are going to debate players. Especially the QB. I hope no one is genuinely upset about any of the dialogue on here.

My prediction is at some point this season the masses go from calling me a BY hater to a BY defender…..when the over the top crowd swings to hard the other way when he isn’t what they are selling.

I think expecting top 10 numbers from Bryce in what is really a sophomore season in my eyes….is setting up for disappointment.

The entertainment of disagreeing over nonsense we barely know about has been basically the only perk of being a Panthers fan the last decade

It's from both sides.  Some apparently can't even entertain a hypothetical where Bryce blows up and has amazing numbers.

People are just dug into their opinion about him and waiting to be proven right.

I just don’t think you need a “big arm” to throw deep passes. It’s very much a WR/timing stat IMO. I think there is this belief that some of these QBs are constantly throwing bombs and completing them regularly. You just need to have that capacity in your game to keep the defense honest and offense open. I think Bryce showed he can do that at the end of the year where others (including myself) doubted he could after the first couple this season. If he can keep doing that the DC/Bryce pairing could work. If not then DC finds someone who can. I honestly don’t think we are that far off in our opinions about this. You are just a lot more skeptical in him fully succeeding in DC’s traditional offense.

Fair enough I don’t know that I would be disappointed necessarily it all depends on the overall status of the team, defense, etc. I would be disappointed with anything less than 20-25 TDs and 3.500 yards in 17 games

What Bryce lacks in elite arm strength he makes up with being able to throw from multiple angles and off platform throws.  Sometimes people don’t realize that’s just as important. But there is nothing about his arm strength that gives me pause he cleared that up last year

I think you need a big arm to make certain throws to the perimeter.  Deep is DNA, timing and placement.
