Foles would be the aberation and yes Stafford is/was elite.  His stats in the 2021 season kindof proves it.  4888 yards, 41 tds, 9 in the playoffs with a 70% completion.  Yeah thats next level

Ive always liked Stafford and thought he drew a poo hand going to Detroit but Id say that SB season was the aberration.

But nitpicking aside - I just want the team to be on the playoff projection in November.  After what weve been through, Ill take a season or two of not being irrelevant in early November.

Hes been an elite passer his entire career, just on a poo det org.  Would always be a "what if" if he actually came here.

I dont recall the timeline but Stafford seems like the proto type qb that Joe Brady wanted to work with.  A gunslinger that took chances unlike Teddy.

I believe Stanford is the highest all-time player in NFL salary terms. He was the last year of those crazy rookie contract, so day one he was a top 5 guy. Lions paid him well after the deal and so have the rams. He's been weeeeeellllllllllllllllll compensated for playing in Detroit.

I mean if you listened to the podcast you would see its not blind "hate" they kindof back up their opinions and Ruiz is a panther fan by choice so theres that

Except he’s not a panthers fan, he’s a Cam fan who only started following the team when Cam was the QB. And yes it bias sticking to your take hate. Even when every grading outlet gives Bryce praise Ruiz would find something to nitpick or find some obscure stat to prove his point.

Absolute worst case scenario for us is we suck, ignore the 5th year option, and draft a new QB onto a team that is pretty well built.  That being said, I think Bryce is turning a corner this year.

I dont think that is worst case at all.  Worst case is Bryce is exactly like he was the last ten games and not really showing anything, making a decision hard.  If we suck this year there are like 5 potential franchise guys that should be coming out this year.

You're right.  This actually is worse.

Although I would disagree that Bryce didn't show anything the last 10 games.  He was significantly improved.  Sometimes the numbers don't really show that but it was plain as day on film.

At some point in the very near future though the potential and hope is not going to be enough. I would expect there to be the confidence to make an unfortunate, or difficult or complicated decision when the time comes, rather than throwing our hands up and producing more reasons why the supposed-franchise player still needs more of this, that and the other to be successful, not just "competitive."

Ruiz is a known Bryce hater, and I despise using that word. He didn’t like Bryce as a prospect and he will die on that hill.

Ruiz is one of the worst “analysts” in the NFL media/draft space. If you see a lot of the lists he puts out, just pure click bait and shock value to gain exposure. As for his Bryce take, he is doing what a lot of folks do in draft media. He formed an opinion about a player and wants that opinion to be right and will not deviate from that opinion regardless of what new  information he gets. He is honestly terrible and not a true Panther fan.

    • take a  look around the league at other young Qb's around Bryce Young's age group  such as Drake Maye , Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix , CJ Stroud  & Caleb Williams who at the time like Bryce Young they also were drafted also joined teams with a losing record .the only difference with these Qb's is after joining their teams with a losing record they led those same teams to a winning record in a very short period of time .it's simply what you call a game changer & or elite Qb's & then take a  look at  the other side of the coin you have Qb's such as Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Justin Fields  & Anthony Richardson also like Bryce Young all first round picks who instead of winning either did not play or led their teams to a losing record while playing  just because Bryce Young was a #1 overall pick does not necessarily mean that he will become improve with time if history tells you anything it's matter of fact just the opposite . lBryce Young who has an overall record of 14-30 & wildly inconsistent & never in the history pf the NFL has a Qb 5'10" or shorter had a successful carrer as Qb in the NFL  you have to ignore alot of FACTS & be really ignorant to the FACT to think Bryce Young is the future at Qb if anything history is telling you exactly what ?..just saying

    • to me these two signings were so bad for the Panthers at the time of our young team. "Sean Gilbert was signed by the Carolina Panthers on April 21, 1998, after being traded from the Washington Redskins in a deal that sent the Panthers two first-round picks (Nos. 5 and 12) to Washington. The Panthers then re-signed Gilbert to a 7-year, $46.5 million contract extension on the same date"  The other was Jason Peters being picked in the First round of the 1998 draft. "Peter played for the Panthers from 1998 to 2001, appearing in 38 games (starting 20) and recording 88 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery His NFL career was cut short by a chronic neck stinger, forcing him to retire after the 2001 season
